Industrial Custodian & Housekeeping

The Industrial Custodian & Housekeeping role at Alabama Cooperage is dedicated to ensuring all facility areas—such as production floors, offices, restrooms, and common spaces—are maintained in a clean and safe condition. Core responsibilities include the proper disposal of waste and recyclables, conducting routine inspections with supervisors, and addressing specific cleaning requirements as needed. This position operates within a noisy, dusty industrial setting and requires consistent use of cleaning equipment. Adherence to company protocols for waste management, hazard reporting, and facility maintenance is essential. Candidates must demonstrate strong attention to detail, reliability, and effective teamwork.

Compensation:

• The base rate is $17.00 per hour. Including safety, attendance, and other bonuses, the total hourly compensation amounts to $20.00 per hour.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Sweeping and mopping floors
• Collecting trash and recycling
• Dusting surfaces
• Cleaning restrooms and common areas, both inside and outside the facility
• Other jobs as assigned

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, stoop, and walk for up to 8–10 hours per shift
• Capability to crawl under mezzanines when necessary
• Frequent use of scoop shovels and brooms
• Occasional lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds

Experience or Job Qualifications:

• Proven ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with set deadlines
• Adaptability to workplace changes
• Understanding safety procedures when working in proximity to industrial machinery
