Job Description

Nexans is creating a new position for a Group Industrial and Purchasing controller

As a true Business Partner to Operations, Manufacturing, Procurement and Finance teams, you will play a key role in designing and implementing the tools, processes and performance indicators that will support the Group’s future growth and efficiency.

This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on professional who wants to make a tangible impact by building a robust management control framework within a dynamic industrial environment.

The role reports to the Group Deputy CFO. The Group industrial and Purchasing controller will work closely with the Group controlling team and the operational teams (Industrial, Purchasing, BG CFO), combining strategic insight with a strong focus on execution and process development.

Area of Responsibilities :

Industrial Controlling

  • Design and implement industrial performance management tools and reporting processes, in coordination with the Industrial team
  • Develop monthly performance reporting and operational dashboards.
  • Analyze production costs, standard costs, product profitability and margins.
  • Define and monitor key manufacturing KPIs such as productivity, scrap rates, and quality-related costs.
  • Support monthly closing activities and ensure the reliability of management reporting data.
  • Perform variance analysis between budget, forecast and actual performance.
  • Partner with plant managers and operational teams to identify performance improvement opportunities, drive action plans, set targets for the different phases of the reporting (budget, forecast, mid term plans)
  • Participate in profitability analyses and capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects for the different phases of the reporting: budget, forecast, mid term plans

Procurement Controlling

  • Establish and develop procurement performance indicators and reporting structures, in coordination with the Purchasing team
  • Monitor purchasing spend, supplier costs, savings initiatives and procurement performance.
  • Contribute to the preparation and monitoring of procurement budgets.
  • Support Purchasing teams by providing financial analysis and decision-making insights.
  • Track raw material and component cost evolution, drive action plans and set targets for the different phases of the reporting (budget, forecast, mid term plans)

Transformation & Process Improvement

  • Design and formalize management control processes that are currently non-existent or insufficiently structured.
  • Standardize cost calculation methodologies and management reporting practices.
  • Promote a performance-driven culture based on reliable KPIs and actionable insights.
  • Participate in the development of reporting, Business Intelligence and analytical tools.
  • Support operational teams through change management and process adoption initiatives.
  • Act as a catalyst for continuous improvement across the organization.

Profile :

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Controlling, or a related field
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in industrial or operational controlling.
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing environment is essential; plant-based experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial costing, standard costing, inventory management and performance analysis.
  • Good understanding of procurement, supply chain and manufacturing processes.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency with reporting and analytical tools.
  • Experience with industrial ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar – preferably SAP).
  • Proven track record in implementing or improving management processes, controls and reporting frameworks.
