For the IMA AUTOMATION Division, we are looking for an INDUSTRIAL AI ENGINEER.

IMA AUTOMATION designs and manufactures prototype machines and automated production lines for the assembly of components across a variety of industries, including the medical, automotive, and e-mobility sectors.

The Role

• Design and develop AI applications for automatic machines and production lines.
• Analyze data collected from PLCs, sensors, vision systems, and industrial devices.
• Develop models for anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, and machine performance optimization.
• Implement Computer Vision solutions for quality control, inspection, and automated recognition.
• Utilize Digital Twins and simulation environments to generate synthetic data and train and validate AI algorithms.
• Explore and develop applications based on Generative AI (GenAI) and Large Language Models (LLMs) to support operators, technicians, and service activities.
• Develop RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems and AI Agents by integrating manuals, alarms, machine data, and technical knowledge.
• Deploy AI models into production and monitor their performance, reliability, and continuous improvement over time.

Experience & Skills

• Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Automation Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of Python.
• Expertise in Machine Learning and Deep Learning.
• Knowledge of major AI frameworks and data analysis methodologies.
• Ability to work on real-world challenges using data from industrial environments.
• Good command of the English language.

What Will Set You Apart

• Knowledge of PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Computer Vision.
• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), and AI Agents.
• Knowledge of Docker, MLOps, and the NVIDIA AI ecosystem/stack.
• Familiarity with PLCs, industrial communication protocols, and industrial automation architectures.
• Experience in the manufacturing industry and/or the automated machinery sector.

Compensation Package

The starting gross annual salary will be €36,000, with the application of the National Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL) for the Metalworking Industry. The compensation package may be increased based on the candidate’s experience and skills, in accordance with objective and gender-neutral evaluation criteria.
