Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Individual Giving Manager to lead our direct marketing and digital fundraising efforts. This role is instrumental in managing and growing Wayside’s individual giving programs, including appeals, campaigns, and monthly donations.

Reporting to the Senior Fundraising Manager, you will drive our fundraising objectives through engaging communications and donor stewardship.

You will also oversee the work of the Campaign Coordinator, working to optimise current campaigns and innovate new strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of key direct marketing and digital fundraising appeals, including our Christmas Appeal, Donate a Plate, Valentine’s Day, Winter Appeal & Warm a Heart.
  • Manage multi-channel campaigns through direct mail, email, social ads, SMS, and telemarketing.
  • Collaborate across teams to optimise supporter journeys, nurture relationships with mid-level and major donors, and identify potential bequest leads.
  • Track and report on income, expenditure, and forecasts for individual giving initiatives.
  • Oversee Wayside’s monthly giving program, focusing on supporter acquisition, retention, and lifecycle management.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across departments to align messaging and achieve shared objectives.
  • Contribute to budget setting, monitor financial performance, and provide post-campaign analysis.

About you

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience across Campaign, Regular Giving or Direct Marketing Management
  • Demonstrated experience in the successful planning and implementation of donor retention and acquisition strategies that meet budget requirements
  • Strong digital fundraising capabilities and an understanding of digital best practice
  • Excellent project management skills and keen eye for detail
  • Experience in budget management and report writing
  • The ability to engage with a range of stakeholders to support organisational objectives across marketing, fundraising and events
  • Effective relationship builder and superior communication, both written and verbal
  • Strong data analysis skills and the ability to interpret data insights into strategic direction

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
