Job Description

We are building a candidate pool of qualified Individual Assistance (IA) professionals in and around the Tallahassee, Florida area to support potential disaster response and recovery operations for Hurricane Isaias. Positions may support disaster survivors through assistance programs, eligibility review, case management, documentation, housing assistance, and other Individual Assistance activities. Specific positions, assignments, and start dates will vary based on project needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Individual Assistance operations and disaster survivor services.
  • Review and process documentation related to disaster assistance.
  • Assist survivors with understanding available assistance and recovery resources.
  • Conduct interviews, assessments, or case reviews as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate case files, records, and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate with government agencies, community organizations, and other recovery partners.
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with applicable program guidelines and procedures.
  • Perform other duties consistent with the position and project requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience in FEMA Individual Assistance, disaster recovery, emergency management, case management, social services, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working directly with disaster survivors is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and travel within the assigned area as project needs require.
