INDIRECT TAX MANAGER

As our Indirect Tax Manager, you will play a key role in managing and continuously improving Coty’s EMEA VAT compliance processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong governance while driving automation and process efficiency across multiple jurisdictions.

THE ROLE

OPTIMIZE, ENABLE, INNOVATE!

As our Indirect Tax Manager, you play a critical role in overseeing VAT compliance across EMEA. You will review and submit VAT and related filings, partner closely with BPO support teams and internal stakeholders, support audits, and contribute to the implementation of new legislation and tax technology—broadening your expertise across 11 tax jurisdictions.
You will be part of a 5‑person Indirect Tax team based in Warsaw, supported by BPO Accenture, and you will manage:

1. VAT Compliance & Reporting

• Review and approve VAT, Intrastat, ESL, and LSPL reports prepared by the BPO
• Ensure timely submission of VAT, ESL, and Intrastat returns across multiple jurisdictions
• Maintain VAT obligation and due‑date trackers
• Prepare and submit corrective VAT returns
• Provide commentary for quarter‑end variance analysis

2. Advisory, Controls & Audit Support

• Investigate VAT discrepancies and advise processing teams on resolutions
• Answer VAT‑related queries from Finance, Supply Chain, and other departments
• Verify VAT compliance of sales and purchase invoices
• Review and approve import VAT reconciliations
• Support VAT and indirect tax audits and respond to audit queries
• Support the design and implementation of VAT control checks
• Assist with FIN 48 and quarter‑end tax reporting

3. Process Improvement, Automation & Projects

• Support implementation of VAT reporting and automation technologies
• Perform UAT testing for new tax designs and legislative changes
• Identify and initiate process improvements and cross‑functional collaboration
• Raise and track IT tickets related to SAP and master‑data issues
• Review BPO reconciliations and propose write‑offs of aged items

4. Cash, Payments & Other Indirect Taxes

• Prepare monthly short‑term VAT liquidity forecasts
• Coordinate VAT and other indirect tax payments
• Support 8th and 13th Directive refund claims
• Support eco‑tax and plastic tax filings
• Create Purchase Orders for compliance and advisory fees
• Resolve open GL items related to VAT

YOU ARE A COTY FIT

As a hands‑on and analytically strong tax professional, you thrive in an international environment and enjoy driving accuracy, compliance, and improvement.

Your skills and experience include:

• University degree in Tax Law, Accounting, or a related field
• 5–7 years of experience in VAT compliance, preferably in an international environment
• Strong experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
• Excellent Excel skills; Power BI is a plus
• Fluent English; additional European languages are an advantage
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Proactive, independent, and outcome‑focused mindset
• Genuine interest in automation and continuous improvement
