【募集の背景 / Purpose & Scope】
We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Senior Manager, Indirect Tax. This critical role bridges global tax
strategy with regional execution, serving as the primary business partner for the APAC, and also supporting EMEA
and Americas regions.
The successful candidate will lead a dual mandate: ensuring robust regional tax governance and business
partnering, while simultaneously driving our global tax technology and process advancement initiatives. You will
play a pivotal role in modernizing our tax function, managing digital obligations, and ensuring seamless
compliance and advisory support across diverse markets.
【職務の内容 / Essential Job Responsibilities】

1. Business Partnering, Policies & Governance
• Advisory & Planning: Lead complex, regional indirect tax advisory and strategic tax planning initiatives to
support business growth and changing operational models especially for the APAC region but also support EMEA
and Americas regions where requested.
• Audit & Controversy Management: Oversee and manage tax authority audits within various regions,
working closely and collaboratively with local affiliates and regional finance teams.
• Compliance Oversight: In relation to complex indirect tax returns, manage the tax compliance process by
reviewing returns. In relation to the tax returns managed by local affiliates, support the local finance members
when they have questions / require indirect tax advisory.
• Cross-Regional Support: If requested, provide flexible, strategic support to APAC / EMEA / Americas
regions on indirect tax matters collaborating with other Indirect Tax team members.
2. Global Tax Technology & Process Advancement (Digital Obligations)
All initiatives within this technical mandate will be executed in close collaboration with our internal and external
stakeholders located in various regions (mainly US, India, Japan) as well as the Indirect Tax team to ensure
alignment and shared success in a global scale.
• Digital Obligation Project Management: Lead the implementation of digital tax obligations (e.g., einvoicing, real-time reporting). Oversee vendor management, solution mapping, and User Acceptance Testing.
• Data Quality & ERP Controls: Drive upstream data cleansing initiatives. Perform root cause analysis on
data discrepancies, enhance ERP system controls (e.g., SAP S/4HANA), and target the reduction of manual tax
activities.
• Workflow Automation: Support the design, build, and implementation of automated data workflows and
reconciliation processes.
• Tax Engine Maintenance & Standardization: Maintain and optimize the indirect tax engine rules (e.g.,
Thomson Reuters). Critically evaluate current localized approaches and design pathways to standardize tax
determination processes across markets.

【応募要件 / Qualifications】
<必須 / Required>
Education & Certifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
• Professional tax or accounting certification is highly preferred.
Core Experience:
• 8–10+ years of progressive experience in indirect tax (VAT/GST/Sales Tax), ideally within a Big 4 firm or a
large multinational corporation.
• Proven track record in managing indirect tax affairs across the APAC region as well as EMEA (Americas
experience is a strong plus).
• Demonstrated experience in project management, specifically regarding tax transformations or process
improvements.
Technical Aptitude:
• Tax Technology & Automation: Familiarity with, or a strong desire to learn, workflow automation and data
analytics tools.
• Tax Engines: Exposure to global tax determination engines (e.g., Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE) is
beneficial, but hands-on training will be supported for the right candidate.
• ERP Systems: A general understanding of top-tier ERP systems (SAP / S/4HANA preferred) and how
upstream data impacts tax outcomes.
Soft Skills & Competencies:
• Growth Mindset: Demonstrates a strong eagerness to learn new technologies, embrace unfamiliar tools,
and continuously adapt to the evolving digital tax landscape.
• Business Partnering: Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate complex tax
rules into actionable business advice.
• Strategic Execution: Ability to think globally while executing regionally; comfortable operating as a core
leadership partner to senior management.
• Language: Business fluent in English. Japanese is not a must but significant advantage due to the
stakeholder management.
