The Indirect Sourcing Senior Buying Specialist will be responsible for indirect procurement for Cargill’s Animal Nutrition and Health (ANH) plants in India and Sri Lanka.
• The role will include sourcing materials related to opex, commercial, marketing, HR, corporate material and services and small portions of chemicals used in the production site.
• The role will interact with internal customers (plant, production, commercial) and external sourcing vendors.
• Develop best value supplier - Sourcing, Developing and Onboarding.
• Identify Cost Saving Strategies through negotiation and implementation.
• Forecasting price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power; conducting cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
• Execute medium and highly complex sourcing events.
• Drive the implementation of regional sourcing decisions.
• Sharing market Insights with relevant stakeholders for taking strategic decisions.
• Provide inputs to the regional category team for category strategy development and execution.
• Provide comprehensive understanding of regional stakeholders and procurement landscape.
• Monitor continuous regional supplier and stakeholder relationships.
• Follow established procedures to select suppliers for procurement of noncontracted materials, goods, services and supplies.
• Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from National Institute of Technology.
• Minimum of two years of related work experience.
• Other minimum qualifications may apply.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• At least 4 years of experience in an indirect procurement role within the Fertilizer or FMCG or ANH or Agriculture sector.
• Strong negotiation skills, experience in vendor management and cost saving techniques.
• Build partnerships and collaborate with others to meet shared objectives.
• Ability to make sense of complex, high-quantity, and sometimes contradictory, information to effectively solve problems.
