Indirect Procurement Internship

Indirect Procurement (IP) is a Finance function dealing with the purchases of goods and services not directly involved in product manufacturing like raw materials. Its scope covers Logistics & Transportation, Marketing & Communication, Property & Facilities, Human Resources, General Services, Professional Services, Travel & Events, Marketing & POS, IT & Telecom.

As an Indirect Procurement Intern, you will be at the heart of the procurement activities of Chanel Benelux and Scandinavia working on all Divisions (Fashion, Fragrances & Beauty, Watches & fine Jewelry) and Corporate activities.

What impact you can create at CHANEL

You will provide support in the evolvement of the Procurement function and its tools, sharing best procurement practices and support internal stakeholders to understand their business requirements and how they can be met. Specifically, the internship is expected to focus on purchases up to 25 k€ per year. During the internship you will be supporting business teams on the management of the procurement process, from strategic sourcing, professional negotiation, contract management, vendor performance, risk assessment, and overall category management. You will be expected to provide reporting on the performance of projects and to ensure the relevant documentation is provided to the European IP team.

Lead sourcing and tendering process:

  • Support in sourcing projects and RFI (Request for Information) ensuring collaboration with internal business partners
  • Support business partners in the definition of specifications & requirements
  • Support in preparation and launching Benelux and Scandinavia tenders/RFP (Request for Proposals)
  • Support in analyzing and negotiating proposals/quotes with suppliers and business partners
  • Award supplier, implement legal agreements & report benefits
  • Support in improving overall Procurement & Sustainability Performance:
    • Identify spend optimization & supplier panel rationalization opportunities
    • Define and implement Preferred Supplier List with business partners and suppliers
    • Conduct financial and spend analysis and prepare professional negotiation
    • Monitor Risk Management and Sustainable Procurement through different tools and initiatives
    • Contract Management and support Account Payable to deploy e-invoicing

Enrich our 22P platform:

  • Create together with business partners and suppliers relevant catalogues (hosted & punch-out)
  • Clean and enrich the preferred supplier database
  • Improve procurement processes
  • Ad hoc requests

What you will bring to the role:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • Previous internship experience in Procurement
  • Good understanding of project management principles and business process support
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and strong analytical skills
  • Fluent English and Dutch or French
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Pro-active and energetic mindset, eager to tackle new projects
