Accountable for executing and optimising sourcing and procurement strategies across a broad range of indirect spend categories. The role partners with internal stakeholders to deliver value through strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, risk mitigation, cost optimisation and contract management, ensuring the organisation receives high-quality goods and services that support operational and business objectives.

This role supports category planning, supplier performance, commercial negotiations, governance and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple indirect procurement categories.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

  • Manage sourcing and execution of purchase orders for Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO), Facilities Management, Professional Service and tooling

  • Lead supplier sourcing, qualification, tendering, negotiation and selection activities across assigned indirect spend categories

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies that ensure high service levels, minimize downtime risk, and optimize total cost.

  • Partner with stakeholders across Operations, Engineering, Finance, IT, HR, Facilities and other business functions to understand requirements and develop procurement solutions

  • Support CapEx and maintenance-related equipment procurement, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effective sourcing of replacement parts and assets.

  • Identify and mitigate supply, commercial, operational and contractual risks within assigned categories

  • Perform supply risk analysis and business continuity planning, ensuring backup sources and contingency plans for critical spares and services.

  • Collect and analyze market intelligence and supplier performance data to identify cost drivers, supply risks, and improvement opportunities.

  • Collaborate with finance to evaluate make vs. buy decisions, repair vs. replace strategies, and lifecycle cost optimization.

  • Provide forecasting and demand planning support for materials using historical usage, maintenance schedules, and reliability data.

  • Drive compliance to inventory management strategies, including safety stock, min/max levels, and inventory turns, while ensuring service level targets are met.

  • Support lean and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in procurement processes, supplier performance, and cost efficiency.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Education / Certifications

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or a related discipline.

  • MCIPS qualified or working towards CIPS accreditation desirable.

Skills and Experience

  • Significant procurement experience across one or more indirect spend categories, including services, facilities, engineering, technology, business services or operational support functions.

  • Experience developing and executing category strategies and sourcing plans.

  • Skilled in negotiating and managing supplier contracts and framework agreements.

  • Strong background in cost analysis, negotiations, inventory management, and category strategy development

  • Demonstrated ability to support maintenance operations and ensure material availability for critical equipment uptime

  • Experience with supplier risk management and business continuity planning, especially for critical spare parts

  • Ability to translate technical maintenance or engineering requirements into sourcing strategies

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in fast-paced, operational environments

  • Ability to collaborate across maintenance, operations, engineering, finance, and supply chain teams

  • Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred), including MRO modules and inventory management

  • Global supply chain or multi-site MRO experience preferred
