Job Description

We're looking for a commercially driven Indirect Buyer to join our Procurement team and play a key role in the development of the indirect procurement team by managing strategic supplier relationships, developing category strategies, and sourcing technical goods and services that support our high-performance environment.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced procurement professional who enjoys building strong stakeholder relationships, leading sourcing projects, and delivering tangible commercial value across technical, engineering, facilities and operational categories.

The Role

Reporting to the Procurement Manager - Indirect, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activity across a range of technical and selected facilities-related categories, covering both operational expenditure (OpEx) and capital expenditure (CapEx).

You will work closely with teams across Engineering, Aerodynamics, R&D, Operations and Facilities, providing procurement expertise, commercial challenge and strategic sourcing support to ensure the business achieves the best value from its supplier base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end sourcing activity across technical and facilities-related categories.
  • Develop and implement category strategies that improve value, supplier performance and commercial resilience.
  • Conduct market analysis, supplier assessments and competitive tender processes.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and contracts, including terms and conditions.
  • Manage supplier relationships, performance reviews, KPIs and improvement plans.
  • Drive cost savings, supplier consolidation, risk reduction and value improvement initiatives.
  • Support stakeholder teams with procurement expertise throughout project lifecycles.
  • Ensure procurement activities remain compliant with company governance and processes.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of procurement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

You will have:

  • Proven experience in indirect procurement across technical, engineering, R&D, CapEx, facilities or complex service categories.
  • Strong category management and strategic sourcing experience.
  • Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • The ability to analyse spend and market data to identify opportunities and drive results.
  • Experience delivering measurable commercial benefits and reducing supply risk.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to influence and challenge constructively.
  • Proficient in procurement systems, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) ERP, Microsoft Office 365 applications, and AI-powered tools (Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Chat GPT)
  • CIPS qualification, or progress towards CIPS, would be advantageous.
