Job Description

BRING SCHOOL SPIRIT TO CAMPUSES & BEYOND: TURN FANS INTO CUSTOMERS & CUSTOMERS INTO FANS

THE OPPORTUNITY: Blue 84 is a leader in licensed collegiate apparel and accessories, and we're looking for an Independent Sales Rep to help us bring the energy of game day to campus stores, bookstores, sporting goods retailers, and licensees across your territory. From best-selling college tees and must-have accessories that fans love all season long, we deliver what sells, year after year, backed by creative support, the flexibility to move fast, and the excitement of hot-market opportunities when championships and big wins happen.

WOW Our Customers is one of our core values, and in the college space, that means delivering products fans can't resist, partnerships schools can count on, and service that keeps us top of mind from the first kickoff to the final whistle and beyond.

This isn't your average sales gig. You'll be repping a powerhouse brand in the licensed market - and with your hustle, relationships, and love for college culture, there's no limit to where you can take this territory.

TERRITORY: North Carolina. Ideally, you live within the region to maximize time in stores and on campuses.

SCHEDULE: You set it. Visit accounts, sell the goods, follow up, and take the time you need to recharge. Sell more, make more- on your time.

DAILY REP LIFE | Build Relationships + Sell Licensed Merch + Grow the Territory

  • Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers, including independent college bookstores, campus retailers, sporting goods stores, licensees, and other businesses focused on licensed collegiate merchandise
  • Promote and provide in-depth knowledge of our licensed college products, highlighting their quality, trend-right design, and what sets our brand apart in the market
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, customer interactions, and sales pipelines
  • Conduct market research and identify new business opportunities to expand your customer base within the college space
  • Collaborate with our internal teams to ensure the smooth execution of orders and projects
  • Keep customers informed about new product launches, promotions, and hot-market opportunities
  • Provide exceptional customer service (have we mentioned our value of WOW Our Customers?!) by anticipating needs, addressing inquiries quickly, resolving issues, and exceeding expectations
  • Stay up to date with licensed college market trends, competitor activity, and industry conditions to identify areas for improvement and growth

QUALIFICATIONS | Licensed Market Pro + Relationship Builder + Sales Driver

  • Proven experience in apparel sales, preferably as an Independent Sales Rep in the licensed collegiate market
  • Prospecting is your greatest strength (you love the hunt), and you are proactive in finding new opportunities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across bookstores, licensees, and campus retailers
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with the ability to work independently and exceed sales targets
  • Strong closing skills with the ability to listen and ask the right questions to get customers exactly what they need
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, seasonal sales environment
  • Knowledge of licensed college market trends and customer preferences preferred
  • Proficiency in using sales software and CRM systems, including Salesforce
  • Willingness to travel within your territory; boots on the ground means more tees, sweatshirts and accessories on the shelves, with follow-up as part of your daily routine
  • Proactive in making sure customers have product at the ready and are satisfied with service
  • Proud to show your sales and scouting activity as a sign of progress, impact, and success
  • Must have an ability to recognize our culture, contribute to it, and be a part of it
  • Go-with-the-flow mentality and able to switch gears quickly when needed
  • Must love dogs (we kinda like them and we hope you do, too)

About Lakeshirts

Lakeshirts is a custom apparel decorating company that started in our owner’s parents’ basement in 1984. We have since grown to an $200 million+ company in a 275,000 square foot facility. Our production floor includes 48 automatic screenprint presses, 32 multi-head embroidery machines, six 60-foot laser appliqué bridges, three sublimation presses, and a number of dogs running around the place.

Lakeshirts sales continue to grow, as does its profitability, due to the hard work and continuous improvement efforts of its 500+ employees and over 60 nation-wide reps.

Lakeshirts provides decorated apparel to thousands of customers in the resort and college markets, being a preferred choice to customers based on its breadth of great designs, great garments in its inventory, and reliable and responsive delivery.

With more than 40 artists on our staff, we create thousands of pieces of art each year, giving each customer a unique look. We have over 100 bodystyles in stock, and each one comes in a multitude of colors, totaling more than 1,000,000 pieces in our inventory.

This is all done in a culture that reflects respect, community, and fun. Our culture is second-to-none and must be experienced to be truly understood. If you happen to be in the lakes area, we invite you to stop in and see for yourself. We always enjoy visits, and we’re proud to show off the community that we’ve called “home” for all of our lives. And if you happen to bring along a Milk Bone or two with you, we know you’ll make some very quick and deep friendships.
