Job Summary:**
The IND SAM Analyst, Infrastructure will be responsible for supporting Hartford Global Services Private Limited's software asset management (SAM) program specifically for infrastructure-related software. This role involves ensuring compliance, optimizing software spend, and managing the lifecycle of infrastructure software assets.
Job Responsibilities:**
- Perform regular software asset inventories and reconciliations for infrastructure components (servers, virtualization platforms, databases, network devices, etc.).
- Analyze software usage data and license entitlements to identify potential compliance risks and cost-saving opportunities.
- Generate and maintain accurate software license position reports for various infrastructure vendors.
- Support internal and external software audits by providing necessary documentation and data.
- Collaborate with IT operations, procurement, and legal teams to ensure effective SAM processes and policies are followed.
- Research and understand license models for new and existing infrastructure software.
- Identify opportunities for software optimization and negotiate with vendors to reduce costs.
- Maintain the SAM database and related tools with up-to-date information on infrastructure software assets.
- Develop and implement best practices for infrastructure software asset management.
- Provide training and guidance to relevant stakeholders on SAM policies and procedures.
Job Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in Software Asset Management (SAM) with a strong focus on infrastructure software.
- Proven understanding of various infrastructure software licensing models (e.g., CPU-based, core-based, user-based for operating systems, databases, virtualization, etc.).
- Experience with SAM tools (e.g., Flexera, Snow Software, ServiceNow SAM Pro) is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Familiarity with ITIL framework and IT asset management best practices.
- Relevant SAM certifications (e.g., CSAM, CAMP) are a plus.
