Considerable knowledge of all income maintenance programs, forms, and documents used in determining eligibility. Considerable knowledge of the use of the income maintenance manuals. Considerable knowledge of needs, problems, and attitudes of disadvantaged persons. General knowledge of all agency programs and services. General knowledge of community services and programs which could affect the client/applicant. General knowledge of the budget process. Good mathematical, reasoning, and computational skills. Ability to instruct, organize, direct, and supervise lower level employees. Ability to learn basic supervisory/management skills. Ability to communicate effectively with workers, supervisors, applicants, and community agencies to obtain pertinent data and to interpret rules and regulations. Ability to present information orally and in written form. Ability to navigate, input data, and problem solve within a technology based, guided interview driven computer program called NC FAST
Supervisor of a unit that administers the Food and Nutrition program with a staff of five Income Maintenance Caseworkers and one Office Assistant. Supervisor has overall responsibility for the Food and Nutrition Unit in seeing that staff members are adequately prepared to perform their duties; adhere to county and agency personnel policies and procedures; follow state and federal program regulations; and assure that clients are served efficiently and on a timely basis. This individual will work with another Food and Nutrition supervisor to ensure that all timeframes and quality mandates in the Memorandum of Understanding are met each month. This individual may transition into a multi-disciplinary team working to serve as a universal supervisor.
Three years of experience as a caseworker or investigator in an income maintenance program, preferably with one year of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday / 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
