Xavier Catholic College, Ballina

Xavier Catholic College is a ministry of the Catholic Parish of St Francis Xavier Ballina, a College in the Diocese of Lismore, and a Companion School of Jesuit Education Australia (JEA).

We invite suitably qualified teachers to apply for the following position:

Inclusion Teacher

Position Type: Part time temporary

Hours / FTE: 0.6 FTE (3 days per week)

Commencement date: January 2027

Term of Appointment: 2027 school year

Applicants must:

• hold a valid NSW Working with Children Check
• have full accreditation with NSW Educational Standards Authority (NESA)
• comply with the Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead Policy upon appointment

Criteria:

• Knowledge of and commitment to the Catholic ethos and mission of the College
• Evidence of qualifications in Inclusion & Diversity
• Ability to work as a member of a committed team of professional teachers, dedicated to providing quality teaching and learning in partnership with the parent community
• Experience in identifying, supporting, and teaching students with complex additional educational needs in line with the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act
• Demonstrated skills in providing supported learning for students, with an understanding of inclusion and legislated practices for NESA and NCCD processes
• Demonstrated experience in developing individualised programs, including Life Skills.
