Job Description

We are excited to invite Expressions of Interest for the following position:

Role: Inclusion Professional Lead (Developmental Delay and Disability)

Contract type: Permanent Full time

Applications Close: Tuesday 16th June

Are you passionate about creating inclusive outcomes for children with additional needs? Do you have knowledge of supporting children with Developmental Delay or Disability, and a desire to build the capability of others? We invite Expressions of Interest for the role of Inclusion Professional Lead (IPL).

This is an exciting opportunity to provide leadership within a defined area of additional need, supporting Inclusion Professionals and educators alike to strengthen their practice while contributing directly to complex and rewarding case work. As an IPL, you will play a critical role in enhancing workforce capability and improving outcomes for children with disability and developmental delay.

The role offers the opportunity to:

  • Lead specialist practice within the area of developmental delay and disability.
  • Mentor and support Inclusion Professionals and educators through coaching, consultation, and professional development.
  • Contribute expert advice and guidance in complex inclusion cases.
  • Build the confidence and capability of educators and services to create inclusive environments for all children.
  • Influence quality outcomes for children, families, educators, and communities.
  • Promote evidence-informed, child-centred, and strengths-based approaches to inclusion.

We are seeking individuals who:

  • Have strong knowledge and experience relating to children's developmental delays and
    disabilities.
  • Demonstrate leadership capabilities and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Can apply expertise to support complex inclusion practices.
  • Are passionate about empowering others and strengthening inclusive practices across the ECEC sector.
  • Are skilled in consultation, collaboration, and relationship building.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
