Job Description

Bosch Rexroth Corporation operates the electric servo driver system business, such as hydraulics and FA module components. The company provides products and solutions mainly related to hydraulic and electric drive in a wide range of areas such as construction, general industrial machinery, and FA equipment.

The Assembly and Testing Process Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining robust and efficient assembly and testing processes for our products like valves and pumps. This role plays a critical part in ensuring product quality, reducing manufacturing costs, and improving production throughput.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Development & Design:
    • Design and develop new assembly and testing processes, procedures, and fixtures for new product introductions and existing products.
    • Conduct feasibility studies for new product portfolio with clear understanding of assembly drawings.
    • Define and document critical process parameters, work instructions, and quality control points.
    • Select and procure appropriate assembly and testing equipment, tooling, and consumables.
  • Process Optimization & Improvement:
    • Analyze existing assembly and testing processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
    • Implement lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen) to streamline workflows and reduce waste.
    • Propose and implement process changes to improve cycle time, production output, cost, and quality.
    • Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects.
  • Troubleshooting & Problem Solving:
    • Investigate and resolve assembly and testing issues, including product defects, equipment malfunctions, and process variances.
    • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
    • Collaborate with cross functional teams to address complex technical challenges.
  • Documentation & Training:
    • Create and maintain detailed process documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), process flowcharts.
    • Provide training and support to production operators and technicians on new and existing assembly and testing processes.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance:
    • Ensure all assembly and testing processes comply with relevant industry standards and internal quality requirements.
    • Ensure establishment of PFMEA for products

Qualifications

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / industrial engineering
  • 6 to 8 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, specifically in assembly and testing processes.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in process development, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with various assembly techniques manual and automation
  • Experience with various testing methodologies (e.g., functional testing, in-circuit testing)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) and ERP systems.
