Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Supplier Quality Management

• Supplier qualification, evaluation, auditing, and development.
• Conduct process, product, system, CSR, and special audits at supplier locations.
• Monitor supplier quality performance through KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Inspection & Quality Assurance

• Inspection and measurement of bought-out parts, fabricated components, sheet metal parts, machined components, and assemblies.
• Preparation and review of Quality Assurance Plans (QAP).
• Preparation and approval of measurement protocols and inspection reports.
• Review of customer-specific quality requirements and implementation at supplier end.

Claim & Problem Resolution

• Manage supplier quality claims and customer complaints.
• Drive Root Cause Analysis and CAPA using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, etc.
• Support containment actions and verification of effectiveness.

Project Quality

• Review and approval of PPAP, ISIR / FPI, and customer quality documentation.
• Support new product development and supplier onboarding activities.
• Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements.

Team Management & Leadership

• Lead and develop Quality engineers and inspectors.
• Resource planning, competency development, and workload management.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration amongst SCM, Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, and Suppliers.

Continuous Improvement & Risk Management

• Identify quality risks and implement preventive actions.
• Drive Lean, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
• Promote a proactive quality culture throughout the supply chain.

Qualifications

Qualification

• B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering

Experience

10 to 15 years of relevant experience in Supplier Quality, Incoming Quality, Manufacturing Quality, or Project Quality

Preferred Skills

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and measurement principles.
• Hands-on experience with:
• CMM
• Roundness Tester
• Surface Roughness Tester
• Hardness Tester
• Height Gauge, Profile Projector, Air Gauge, etc.
• Knowledge of:
• Heat Treatment Processes
• Surface Treatment Processes
• Welding & Fabrication Processes
• Sheet Metal Manufacturing
• Machining Processes

Quality Systems

• IATF 16949
• ISO 9001
• PPAP
• APQP
• FMEA
• MSA
• SPC
• QMS Documentation

Certifications (Preferred)

• Lead Auditor (IATF 16949 / ISO 9001)
• CWI (Certified Welding Inspector)
• NDT Level-1 / Level-2
