Job Description

Supports the foreclosure team by coordinating and managing the service of legal documents in accordance with court rules and deadlines. Prepare service packets, work with process servers and other vendors to ensure timely delivery of legal documents. The responsibilities include but are not limited to

Preparing service packets, communicating with process services, and vendors, and tracking the status of the service attempts to ensure timely and accurate completion. The bulk of said tasks encompass timely correspondence with all interested parties, maintaining electronic files, preparing legal pleadings, following up on process service, the utilization and maintenance of a variety of client systems, and addressing incoming calls. In this position you will need to possess the willingness to work in a team as well as the ability to be self-driven and work independently whenever needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Drafting, preparing, and formatting service of process legal documents including summons, complaints, subpoenas, and other court filings.

· Assemble service packets and transmit documents to process servers.

· Ensuring timely, courteous, and thorough responses to a heavy volume of email correspondence.

· Developing and maintaining congenial relationships with business associates and clients.

· Communicating with process servers on status of service and ensuring service completion.

· Providing exceptional customer service to clients at every level of interaction.

· Proofreading the legal documents as required.

· Providing support to attorneys in a high volume, time sensitive atmosphere.

· Providing regular and timely client status updates, as well as continual follow-up on outstanding documents and or services.

· Performing other duties and responsibilities as needed.

EDUCATION & SKILLS

· At least 2-3 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal within a foreclosure firm.

· Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Must be committed to providing exceptional customer service.

· Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with borrower, clients, attorneys, other internal employees, and outside parties.

· Must be able to work with others in a congenial and team-oriented manner.

· Must possess exceptional organizational skills; the position requires the ability to multi-task and be adaptable to continual change.

· Ability to read and write at a high level for proof reading and editing purposes.

· Familiarity with case and document management software

· Experience with client systems such as LPS, SSE Portal, Tempo, Vendorscape and others is preferred.

· Good understanding of the legal process surrounding foreclosure preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, or crouch The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Normal office working conditions. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate. This a full time position, Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm.
