Within Advisory, PwC has a large teamthatfocuson transformation in Government through Digital inclusion. The open position is for a candidate whodesiresto work with government clients and bring about a change in society. A successful candidate will be expected to workpro-activelyand effectively on multiple client engagements over theperiod of timeand take ownership of the entire project delivery he/she entrusted with.

Responsibilities:

• Lead GIS-related workstreams in government consulting projects across urban planning, utilities, land records, smart cities,transportandinfrastructure domains.

• Design, developandimplement GIS-based applications, dashboardsandvisualizations using tools like ESRI ArcGIS and QGIS.

• Manage spatial data collection, cleaning,conversionandanalysis from multiple sources including satellite imagery,surveysandopen data.

• Conduct geocoding, georeferencingandspatial modeling to support planning and decision-making for government stakeholders.

• Support integration of GIS platforms with other IT systems (MIS, ERP, citizenservice platforms).

• Liaise with government officials and domain consultants to understand project requirements and translate them into GIS solutions.

• Prepare high-quality documentation,reportsandtraining materials for client use and capacity building.

• Ensure GIS solutions are aligned with national spatial data infrastructure (NSDI) guidelines and geospatial policy norms.

• Support proposal development, GIS solutioningandstakeholder presentations for new business opportunities.

Mandatory skill sets

• 6 to 10 years of experience in GIS and spatial analysis, including project delivery

• Strong command of ESRI ArcGIS Suite (ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Server), QGISandother GIS software.

• Experience in geocoding, geodatabase management, spatial datamodelingandweb-based GIS applications.

• Proficiencyin working with spatial databases (e.g., PostgreSQL/PostGIS, SQL Server Spatial).

• Good understanding of government programs, spatial planningpoliciesandurban development schemes.

• Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, requirementgatheringandpresenting GIS outputs to non-technical audiences.

Preferred skill sets:

• Prior experience in GIS consulting for Central/State Government, PSUs, ULBs, or donor-funded projects.

• Familiarity with remote sensing, drone data processing,LiDARandopen-source geospatial libraries (e.g., GDAL, Leaflet,OpenLayers).

• Working knowledge of Python/R/JavaScript for GIS automation and customization.

• Understanding of national programs like Digital India, Smart Cities, AMRUT, NRSC, Bhuvan, NIC platforms.

• Certification in GIS, remote sensing, or spatial data science (e.g., ESRI Technical Certification).

Years of experiencerequired

• 6 to 10 years of hands-on experience in GIS consulting, GIS applicationdevelopmentandspatial data analytics, preferably in government or public infrastructure projects.

Education qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geography, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, ora relatedfield.

• Master’s degree in Geo-Informatics, Remote Sensing, GIS, or Spatial Data Sciencefrom a recognized institution(preferred).
