WHAT YOU WILL ACCOMPLISH
In this hybrid role
• Maintain warm, hospitable guest relations in all guest interactions, both in In Room Dining and at our Kala Kai Pool Bar.
• Respond promptly and thoughtfully to individual guest needs in guest rooms, pool areas, and surrounding service zones.
• Greet all guests in a warm, friendly, and professional manner, creating a welcoming and personalized experience.
• Answer questions and make suggestions regarding menu selections, preparation methods, and beverage options, including cocktails, wine, and specialty offerings.
• Accurately take and communicate food and beverage orders to culinary and bar teams for both in-room dining and poolside service.
• Deliver food and beverages to guest rooms and pool areas in a timely, professional, and presentation-focused manner, ensuring quality standards are met.
• Set up and maintain poolside dining areas, including proper table setup, cleanliness, and organization of service stations.
• Monitor guests throughout their dining experience to anticipate needs, fulfill additional requests, and ensure satisfaction.
• For in-room dining: coordinate tray/table delivery and timely retrieval once the guest has completed their meal.
• For pool service: provide continuous table service, including clearing, resetting, and maintaining cleanliness of poolside areas.
• Compute bills, collect payments, and process transactions accurately for both in-room and poolside guests.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas, trays, carts, and poolside stations in accordance with hotel standards.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards, especially in outdoor and pool environments.
• Respond to and resolve all guest requests, complaints, or concerns in a courteous and timely manner.
• Provide guests with information about hotel services, amenities, dining options, and local area recommendations.
• Collaborate with team members across departments to ensure seamless service between in-room dining, pool operations, and restaurant outlets.
• Assist with setting up, breaking down, and restocking service areas, including pool bars, stations, and IRD equipment.
• Report maintenance needs or safety concerns promptly to supervisors.
• Protect guest safety and well-being at all times, particularly in the pool environment.
• Adjust to high-pressure conditions, fluctuating service volumes, and outdoor weather conditions.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
• Support a positive team environment and assist coworkers as needed across service areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
• Knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors.
• Knowledge of all hotel departments and functions.
• Good mathematical and basic computer skills.
• Ability to accurately use various Microsoft Office and PMS software.
• Ability to actively listen to others.
• Ability to learn quickly and work in fast paced position with constant guest interaction.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Ability to lift, push and pull a minimum of 20 pounds.
• Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, standing, and handling of materials.
• Ability to be a team player.
GREAT IF YOU HAVE
• Previous serving experience in a resort, poolside, or outdoor dining.
• Food Handler’s Card (or ability to obtain).
• Knowledge of local area and resort amenities.
• Must have good mathematical and computer skills.
• CPR and first aid training preferred.
