Responsibilities:
We are seeking an experienced SAP Data Migration Consultant to lead data migration activities for SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA transformation programs, with a strong focus on Bluefield / Selective Data Transition approaches. The role is suited for a client-facing consultant who can combine SAP data understanding, migration strategy, and stakeholder management to support global clients through complex SAP migration and implementation journeys.
The consultant will work closely with client business teams, SAP functional consultants, technical migration teams, and project leadership to define migration scope, assess data readiness, identify data quality risks, and support the execution of migration waves, mock cycles, cutover, go-live, and post-go-live stabilization.
Lead SAP data migration workstream activities for ECC to S/4HANA transformation projects, including Bluefield, Brownfield, and Greenfield migration scenarios.
Work with client stakeholders and functional consultants across SAP workstreams such as Finance, Controlling, Materials Management, Sales and Distribution, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Master Data to define migration requirements and dependencies.
Facilitate client workshops to understand legacy data landscape, business priorities, regulatory requirements, historical data needs, and future-state S/4HANA design considerations.
Support the formulation of end-to-end data migration strategy, including migration scope, object prioritization, data retention approach, time-slicing strategy, data cleansing approach, and mock migration planning.
Assess SAP data objects, master data, transactional data, and cross-module dependencies to identify migration risks, reconciliation requirements, and business process impacts.
Coordinate with technical migration teams, SAP Basis, ABAP, integration teams, and data teams to support extraction, transformation, loading, validation, and reconciliation activities.
Support data profiling, data quality assessment, data cleansing, deduplication, harmonization, enrichment, and remediation tracking across migration cycles.
Contribute to data archiving and selective data transition discussions, including decisions on historical data retention, fiscal year or period-based migration, organizational scope, and compliance requirements.
Participate in migration mock cycles, defect triage, issue resolution, data validation, cutover planning, go-live readiness, and hypercare support.
Prepare migration documentation, workshop outputs, issue logs, data readiness reports, reconciliation summaries, and executive status updates for project leadership and client stakeholders.
Mandatory Skills and Experience
Hands-on experience in at least one SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA migration or implementation project.
Mandatory exposure to one or more SAP transformation approaches: Bluefield / Selective Data Transition, Brownfield conversion, or Greenfield implementation.
Basic understanding of SAP data objects across common SAP modules, including customer, vendor, business partner, material master, chart of accounts, cost centers, profit centers, open items, inventory, purchasing, sales, and related transactional data.
Awareness of cross-module data dependencies and the impact of data migration decisions on business processes, reporting, reconciliation, and cutover.
Understanding of data migration concepts such as data profiling, data quality assessment, cleansing, deduplication, harmonization, time slicing, archiving, validation, and reconciliation.
Ability to engage with SAP functional consultants and client business users to translate business requirements into migration scope and data readiness actions.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Comfortable working in a global consulting environment with distributed teams, multiple workstreams, and client-facing responsibilities.
Preferred / Added Advantage
Exposure to SAP migration and selective data transition tools such as SNP CrystalBridge, SNP Kyano, SNP Transformation Backbone, SAP Migration Cockpit, SAP Business Transformation Center, SAP Data Services, or similar tools.
Experience supporting migration object design, mapping, transformation rules, load files, data validation scripts, reconciliation reports, or migration defect management.
Understanding of S/4HANA simplification items, Business Partner conversion, Universal Journal, and common ECC to S/4HANA data model changes.
Experience in data governance, master data management, data stewardship, or enterprise data quality initiatives.
Prior experience with Big Four or large consulting firm delivery methods, offshore-onsite coordination, proposal support, or SAP transformation assets and accelerators.
Success Measures
Clear and agreed migration strategy aligned with client business priorities and S/4HANA design.
Migration scope, data objects, dependencies, risks, and cutover considerations documented and maintained across project phases.
Improved data readiness through profiling, cleansing, quality remediation, and reconciliation planning.
Effective collaboration across functional, technical, client, and project management teams.
Successful completion of mock migrations, cutover rehearsals, go-live activities, and hypercare support with minimal business disruption.
