Your New Role

The Scripted Producer supports the delivery of Warner Bros. Australia’s scripted slate by overseeing the operational, financial and production processes across development and production projects.

Working closely with and under the direction of the Head of Scripted, the role ensures that projects are delivered efficiently, within approved creative, financial and scheduling parameters.

The Scripted Producer partners with theProduction Teamon budgets, schedules, cost reporting and agreements, and works closely with the Company’s legal, business and finance teams to ensure each scripted project complies with Company policies, contractual requirements and production best practice.

Position Responsibilities:

Project Identification and Development

  • Oversee development projects, including writers’ rooms and bible creation, in line with the creative direction and strategic guidance of the Head of Scripted.

  • Coordinate the assessment and progression of scripts and creative materials submitted to the Company, ensuring alignment with agreed creative and production objectives.

  • Liaise with writers to ensure material aligns with the Company’s creative direction, production scope and available financing as set by the Head of Scripted.

  • Suggest and facilitate the engagement of suitable cast and crew, in collaboration with the Head of Scripted and following their creative steer and approvals.

Strategic Partnerships and Funding

  • In consultation with the Head of Scripted,Production Teamand the Company’s business team, support funding and commissioning strategies aligned to agreed creative and financial parameters.

  • Assist with identifying and coordinating additional funding opportunities, including nontraditional partners, where aligned with overall production strategy.

  • Coordinate and manage the preparation and submission of creative materials for funding and commissioning applications, ensuring accuracy, clarity and timeliness.

Production Oversight

  • Oversee the operational delivery of multiple scripted productions from preproduction through postproduction, ensuring processes, workflows and schedules run smoothly.

  • Support cast engagement negotiations alongside theProduction Team, in line with creative direction set by the Head of Scripted.

  • Oversee postproduction from a workflow, scheduling and delivery perspective, ensuring milestones, approvals and deliverables are met, with creative oversight retained by the Head of Scripted.

  • Manage production deliverables to broadcasters, distributors, funding bodies and equity partners, ensuring all technical, contractual and delivery requirements are satisfied.

Budgeting and Management

  • Work with theProduction Teamto develop and manage budgets within the scale, scope and financial parameters defined by the Head of Scripted.

  • Support production budgeting and scheduling to ensure projects are built to agreed levels required by commissioning and funding partners.

  • Attend cost reports as required, providing operational oversight and guidance to ensure production expenditure aligns with approved budgets, schedules and production objectives.

Problem Solving and Relationship Building

  • Support the identification and resolution of operational issues arising during production, including scheduling, technical or delivery challenges, escalating creative matters to the Head of Scripted as required.

  • In consultation with theProduction Team, ensure HR, OHS, legal and compliance matters are identified and resolved promptly via the appropriate Company departments.

  • Maintain strong, collaborative working relationships with heads of department, production teams, broadcasters, funding bodies and industry partners to support smooth production delivery.

  • Contribute to building the Company’s reputation as a trusted and collaborative scripted production partner.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Produce scripted projects as required.

  • Undertake other duties consistent with the role of Scripted Producer or Supervising Producer as required from time to time.

Work Experience:
  • Minimum of5years of experience in scripted television productionas aProducer

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Proven experience managing complex production schedules and budgets within defined creative and financial frameworks.

  • Strong relationships across the Australian scripted television industry, including broadcasters, funding bodies, talent agencies, cast and crew.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain effective, collaborative working relationships with commissioning partners and production stakeholders.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.

  • Sound understanding of television production processes, legal requirements and compliance obligations.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.

  • A proactive, solutionsfocused approach to problem solving.

  • Strong communication and timemanagement skills.
