Job Shift Day
This is a Full-Time, In-person position and will be performed indoors at the Elmwood Correctional Facility or Santa Clara County Main Jail with some work also being done at Goodwill HQ in San Jose, CA. The classes will be held within the classrooms and/or dorms located within Elmwood or Main Jail.

Job Responsibilities
Develop and maintain 12-week curriculum to ensure program remains relevant and that the delivery of services in-custody is creative and continuing to meet the needs of the population
Data entry and practice proper protocols of data entry for all clients served
Conduct class lectures, small group tutorials and one-on-one instruction
Conduct assessment to determine individual needs
Conduct testing that demonstrates participant’s understanding, retention and application of lessons
Preparing teaching materials for each class
Providing group instruction in a way that allows each individual to be engaged and productive
Provide Cell-Study packets to participants during institutional lock-down
Deliver instructional services and assist in curriculum development in areas such as; mindfulness, meditations, the basic principles of emotional regulation, development of life skills, conflict resolution, and other class lessons TBD.
Follow security policy & procedures of the institution
Performs other duties as requested

Preferred
Qualifications/Experience
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution that included or was supplemented by supervised student teaching.
1-2 years of successful experience working in a jail setting, education with incarcerated populations, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Must become certified as a Moral Reconation Therapy Facilitator within 90 days of hiring.
Knowledge of and practice in applicable recovery models, mediation and mindfulness models, with emotional regulation, and life skills application being the main goal.
Must possess vehicle, insurance, CDL, and excellent driving record.
Excellent technological skills, proficiency in computer and tablet usage.
Excellent data entry skills and proficiency in MS Office, case management databases, internet, Google applications

Willingness and ability to grow professionally, be accountable, and to expand skills and adapt to evolving school environments is required

Job Setting:
The job will be performed indoors at the Elmwood Correctional Facility or Santa Clara County Main Jail with some work also being done at Goodwill HQ in San Jose. The classes will be held within the classrooms and/or dorms located within Elmwood or Main Jail.
Physical Demands:
The job involves sedentary and light work. Lifting of up to 30 lbs may be required as you will be transporting class materials in and out of the facility every day. This will include class laptops as well.

$30 - $32 hourly
