Qnity is seeking an Improvement Engineer to join our Manufacturing Technology (MT) Team, a central organization responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives across all of Qnity’s semiconductor materials and electronic materials businesses at a plant level.
This team plays a critical role in maximizing manufacturing performance, advancing process safety, improving operational excellence, and supporting the company's growth through strategic projects and technology implementation. As an Improvement Engineer, you will work cross-functionally with manufacturing sites, business leaders, technology experts, and global teams to deliver impactful improvements in productivity, asset utilization, cost efficiency, yield enhancement, and EH&S performance.
Identify and execute opportunities to improve productivity, reduce costs, optimize yields, and maximize asset utilization.
Collaborate closely with plant operations teams to drive sustainable operational improvements.
Analyze manufacturing performance data to identify technology enhancements and improve asset reliability.
Partner with technology experts to identify, evaluate, and implement improvement opportunities.
Develop and execute site-specific technology plans that deliver year-over-year Return on Capital (ROC) improvements and support EH&S objectives.
Lead local implementation of Most Effective Technology (MET) initiatives.
Drive engineering upgrades and support the introduction of new technologies through collaboration with internal experts and global networks.
Champion Process Safety Management (PSM) principles and activities across the manufacturing site.
Support initiatives that strengthen process safety, operational reliability, and risk reduction.
Apply Continuous Improvement methodologies including Lean, Six Sigma, and other global improvement tools.
Support growth and investment initiatives, reliability and maintenance programs, product transfers, and contract manufacturing qualifications.
Contribute to yield improvement, capacity expansion, and manufacturing optimization projects.
Participate in capital and improvement projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
Build strong relationships and credibility with operations teams through technical expertise and continuous improvement leadership.
Facilitate knowledge sharing and best-practice deployment across manufacturing sites and business units.
Manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
Process Engineering
Manufacturing Operations
Maintenance Engineering
Project Engineering / Project Management
Experience leading or supporting continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Professional proficiency in both Korean and English.
Knowledge and application of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience with manufacturing process simulation or engineering software such as ASPEN
Project management or engineering experience within an EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) organization.
