The Improvement Engineer is responsible for driving the Continuous Improvement journey at the DuPont’s Pindamonhangaba site, acting as a technical reference in identifying, prioritizing, and executing initiatives that increase safety, productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.

In addition to leading the continuous improvement roadmap—ensuring governance, prioritization, and methodological standardization—this professional also executes low- complexity CAPEX projects, conducting scope development, planning, engineering, installation, commissioning, and final delivery.

Additionally, the role supports lifecycle asset management and reliability engineering activities, collaborating with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, EHS and other multidisciplinary areas to promote sustainable improvements and enhance plant performance.

Your key responsibilities will be/what you’ll do:

1. CAPEX & Fixed Assets

- Support the development of scope, cost estimates, schedules, and technical documentation for low-complexity projects.

- Follow basic and detailed engineering, installation, commissioning, start-up, and project delivery stages.

- Assist in conducting FAT/SAT and technical validation of suppliers.

- Ensure project compliance with corporate standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols.

- Update and maintain the industrial fixed asset inventory.

- Support condition, criticality, and remaining useful life analyses of equipment.

- Assist in planning future investments (Five-Year Capital Plan).

- Support internal audits related to asset management and technical documentation.

2. Continuous Improvement

- Lead the plant’s continuous improvement roadmap, ensuring updates, prioritization, and alignment with business goals.

- Maintain and review the improvement project pipeline, ensuring initiatives are well-defined with clear scope and impact criteria.

- Monitor project progress, ensuring adequate action closure and indicator updates.

- Participate in and support Lean events, Kaizens, and structured problem-solving activities.

3. Reliability Engineering

- Contribute to preventive and predictive maintenance program development (PPM).

- Participate in failure analyses (RCA, 5 Whys, Ishikawa).

- Monitor performance indicators.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Production, Mechanical, or related fields).

- Experience in industrial operations, engineering, maintenance, or continuous improvement.

- Basic knowledge of project management and CAPEX.

- Problem-solving tools (5 Whys, Ishikawa, Pareto, PDCA).

- Basic reliability and industrial maintenance knowledge.

- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.

- Advanced English skills.

- Knowledge of SAP, Power BI, MES.

- Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt is preferred.

- Basic knowledge of automation or PLC.
