Red Ember Recruitment is recruiting for an Imports Clerk for our client in Cape Town.

  • Matric and Maritime experience

  • Attention to detail, strict adherence to rules and regulation

  • Good Interpersonal skills

  • Admin orientated

  • Strong Computer and communication skills (MS Word, Excel, Navis, Outlook)

  • Planning and organising skills

  • Professional Candidate to deal with third parties at all levels

  • Able to get to the office before 08h00 everyday (punctual, self-disciplined)

  • Individual needs to be accountable and responsible under minimum supervision

  • Be a team player and able to work closely with colleagues under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Prepared to work extended hours and weekends when needed


Duties


  • Counter duties, attending to receipt of documents.

  • Validating Original Bills

  • Client Liaison

  • Reconcile payments for receipting

  • Receiving & acknowledging receipt of Release Documents

  • Capturing of Release Documents & hand to AM for final release

  • Expediting Agent haulage releases for early delivery instructions

  • Identify & inform customers to expedite release of Direct Delivery / Reefer shipments

  • Notify customers of overstay deadline & surrender documents prior vessel ETB

  • Follow up on uncleared containers to avoid cargo being moved to state warehouse.

  • Arrange movement of uncleared containers to be delivered to the depot prior to the last free day in the terminal.

  • Processing of invoices

  • Assisting to resolve queries

  • Use of Navis systems.

  • Processing carrier haulage instructions.

  • Filing / Attach all release files for Acquittals.

  • Assist in other CSS functions during busy period or in absence of staff.

  • Ensure all emails are attended to/acknowledged daily.
