Job Description

Essential Job Functions

  • Serve as project manager for the end-to-end implementation of new contract logistics clients, from contract award through go-live and post-launch stabilization.
  • Partner with solution design and operations leadership, with input from sales as needed, to translate the signed statement of work and pricing model into a detailed implementation project plan, timeline, and resource plan.
  • Assemble and lead cross-functional implementation teams, including solution design, WMS configuration, industrial engineering, warehouse operations, and IT, and clarify roles and responsibilities across the team.
  • Conduct and manage regular implementation meetings with operations, solution design, IT (integration), and the client to align on status, deliverables, decisions, and open items.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the client throughout implementation, managing expectations, cadence of communication, and status reporting.
  • Track project scope, schedule, risks, and issues, and escalate to internal leadership and client stakeholders as needed.
  • Lead go-live readiness assessments, cutover planning, and hypercare support immediately following go-live.
  • Conduct post-implementation review of project performance and success, both operational and financial, and capture lessons learned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Talking, hearing, and using hands to operate computer equipment. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • May require travel to client and site locations to support implementation activities, including on-site presence during go-live periods.
  • Job will require presence at the assigned work location.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Experienced in contract logistics, warehousing, or 3PL operations, with an understanding of how implementation decisions affect ongoing site performance.
  • Proficient in project management methodologies, with a focus on developing solution-driven project plans, managing scope and requirements, and identifying timeline constraints and risks.
  • Makes clients and their needs a primary focus of one's actions; develops and sustains productive client relationships throughout implementation.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in influencing cross-functional departments and managing change across multiple concurrent implementations.
  • Develops and uses collaborative relationships to accomplish work goals; builds relationships by listening, sharing ideas, and appreciating others' efforts.
  • Maintains stable performance under pressure or opposition; handles stress in a manner acceptable to others and the organization.
  • Uses appropriate methods and a flexible interpersonal style to build a cohesive team and facilitate completion of team goals.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management or scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet); working knowledge of WMS platforms preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with people from multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees, and clients.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years related experience in project management or implementation. At least 3 years of experience in contract logistics, warehousing, or 3PL operations preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory, managerial, or cross-functional team leadership experience required.

Certification and Licenses

  • PMP or other project management certification preferred, not required.
