We are currently looking for an Immigration Specialist to join our team and take ownership of our organization's immigration programs and processes. This role requires strong critical thinking and sound judgment to navigate complex, nuanced cases — partnering closely with legal counsel, HR, and business stakeholders to shape immigration strategy and guide decision-making. The ideal candidate is someone who can operate independently, exercise discretion on matters of significance, and provide a thoughtful, informed experience for employees and partners navigating these processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze documentation for current and prospective employees to assess eligibility, evaluate complex or unclear cases, and determine appropriate next steps
  • Stay attuned to changes in employees' work status over time, helping anticipate and manage potential gaps
  • Evaluate individual case facts and business priorities to develop and propose immigration strategies and practical solutions to stakeholders
  • Analyze current immigration trends and regulatory shifts, translating potential impacts into clear guidance for stakeholders
  • Assess and coordinate employment-based immigration cases, exercising judgment on when to engage outside counsel or internal stakeholders
  • Own case status, deadlines, and documentation across various immigration matters, identifying risk areas and proactively resolving issues before they escalate
  • Serve as a resource for employees and stakeholders navigating immigration-related questions, applying sound judgment to guide them through nuanced situations
  • Draft and review immigration-related documentation and correspondence, ensuring accuracy and alignment with case strategy
  • Maintain and interpret records related to employment eligibility and immigration cases to support informed decision-making
  • Conduct periodic reviews of immigration documentation, identifying patterns or gaps and recommending corrective action
  • Prepare analysis and materials for internal reviews or audits, helping surface findings that inform broader compliance strategy
  • Partner with outside immigration counsel to shape case strategy, filings, and follow-ups
  • Advise employees, managers, and practice owners on immigration matters, weighing individual circumstances against organizational policy
  • Develop and refine templates and processes for common immigration-related communications
  • Guide onboarding-related immigration needs for new hires, anticipating potential complications
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, legal, IT, and operations, contributing immigration expertise to broader business decisions
  • Lead or contribute to special projects related to immigration programs as they arise

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, Law, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 2–5 years of experience in business immigration and its related compliance practices, or HR experience supporting in that area
  • Experience working on immigration petitions end-to-end, including drafting full petitions as needed
  • Experience independently owning complex cases from start to finish, exercising sound judgment along the way — this role requires someone who can operate effectively with a high degree of autonomy
  • Comfortable identifying trends and gaps in documentation or records, and translating findings into clear recommendations for leadership and cross-functional partners
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Comfortable handling sensitive and confidential information
  • A good team player who builds solid working relationships and is happy to pitch in and collaborate when needed
  • Clear communicator who works well across teams and with external partners
  • Proficiency with common office software; familiarity with HR systems is a plus

*This position offers a hybrid or remote work arrangement based on your location. Candidates residing within 35 miles of our Chicago, IL (Fulton Market) office or within 45 miles of our East Syracuse, NY office are expected to work on-site. • A generous benefits package that includes paid time off, health, dental, vision, and 401(k) savings plan with match

TAG - The Aspen Group

About TAG - The Aspen Group

When we launched Aspen Dental, we set out to break down the barriers that made it hard for patients to keep up with their dental health — affordability, transparency, and access. We knew the key to better patient care started with the provider, so we changed how the dental business worked. We built new relationships, expertise, and tools to help dentists run their businesses more effectively and better care for their patients.

Fast forward, and over 25 years later, we’ve launched more than 1000 Aspen Dental locations—by doing so, we are proud to say we have changed access to dental care nationwide. But there’s more work to do. Healthier, happier smiles were just our beginning.

We come together to launch TAG – The Aspen Group, and we are officially expanding beyond dental to embrace a new vision. As we transform Aspen Dental, Chapter, ClearChoice, WellNow, and Lovet into one family, we’re setting out to achieve one simple goal together: to bring better healthcare to more people - because we believe in a future where health and wellness is accessible for all. While our vision now is broader, how we achieve it remains the same. The best care starts with the provider, and TAG exists to power them so they can meet patients where they are, no matter their specialty, and deliver better care. Because we know that at the end of the day, better healthcare is simple — empower the provider and their teams and the rest will follow.

United as one group, we’re not just breaking down barriers, today we’re breaking through. We’re challenging the status quo. Together we can prove healthcare can be better for both providers and patients. Together we can bring better healthcare to more people.
