How you’ll help us make health happen
As an Imaging Assistant, you'll work closely with Radiologists, Radiographers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure a seamless patient journey and the smooth running of the Imaging Department.
Combining clinical and administrative responsibilities, you'll support patients throughout their appointments, assist with imaging procedures, and help maintain a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment.
Key responsibilities
Support the day-to-day running of the Imaging Department across CT, MRI, Ultrasound, X-Ray, and Interventional Imaging services.
Prepare imaging rooms, equipment, and patient lists to ensure clinics and procedures run efficiently.
Welcome, prepare, and support patients throughout their imaging appointments, delivering an outstanding patient experience.
Assist Radiographers and Radiologists during imaging procedures and clinics.
Carry out and record patient observations and support with clinical tasks, including patient safety screening.
Maintain high standards of infection prevention, cleanliness, health and safety, and patient confidentiality.
Provide administrative support when required and contribute to the continuous improvement of departmental services.
Work flexibly as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the department.
What we’re looking for
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
Experience carrying out basic nursing or clinical support tasks.
At least one year's experience working within a healthcare, hospital, or similar clinical environment.
Understanding of medical interventions and patient care practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-focused approach.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Flexible, organised, and able to remain calm under pressure.
A proactive, professional, and motivated individual with a positive attitude.
Previous Imaging Department experience and knowledge of IR(ME)R regulations would be advantageous.
