About Us

Our mission is to preserve, protect and sustain the state’s pension and healthcare plans, generate investment returns in excess of comparable public pensions, properly account for and report on all funds that are deposited, invested, and disbursed through the North Carolina Department of State Treasurer, assure the financially sound issuance of debt for state and local governments, maintain the state’s “AAA” bond rating, and provide exemplary service across all divisions of the Department.

Description of Work

The primary purpose of this position is to provide document and image uploading, via fax, email and online submittals for the Retirement Systems Division, into the IT systems, for other divisional sections. When necessary, this position will also assist in the daily imaging for all work by batch prepping, scanning, and indexing records into IT systems for other divisional sections. These processes are to be carried out in an accurate and timely manner.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

*The anticipated hiring rate for this position is up to $46,614, based on available funding and internal equity considerations.*

This position is responsible for:

  • Ensuring date, notary seals, document types, codes, number of pages, and one/two sided documents are appropriately notated before scanning.
  • Processing documents in a timely manner so other employees can provide the required services for Retirement System members.
  • Correcting system codes/records according to established procedures.
  • Assessing other databases such as Accurint and USPS to reconcile addresses.
  • Coding all forms correctly and ensuring accuracy for forms used by each respective section with Operations and Member Services

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Qualified applicants must possess, and application must clearly reflect work experience that demonstrates the following:

  • Knowledge of basic computer operations.
  • Ability to navigate multiple systems effectively.
  • Knowledge of mail and document processing.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in oral and written formats.
