The Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Statewide 9-1-1 is seeking a detail‑oriented and service‑focused Telecommunicator Trainee to join our team. The Telecommunicator Trainee participates in a six‑ to twelve‑month training program to develop core skills in State Police telecommunications. The trainee learns communication protocols, FCC regulations, radio and teletype operations, and ISP computer systems through classroom instruction, demonstrations, and on‑the‑job training. Responsibilities include updating manuals, maintaining files, and entering operational data. The position also involves attending meetings and workshops to support development toward full telecommunicator proficiency. ISP encourages all those who qualify to apply!
