
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Scrub Technician, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our surgical team. This role is responsible for maintaining a sterile field, anticipating the needs of the surgical team, and ensuring surgical instruments and supplies are available, sterile, and functioning properly. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, strong communication, and teamwork skills, while maintaining the highest standards of surgical care and patient safety.
RNs function as First Circulator (run the room), Second Circulator/Third Circulator/Forth Circulator (assisting as needed)/Second Scrub/Third Scrub/Fourth Scrub (as needed). They can function as Scrub-Setup and First Scrub if they have had the training and competencies are on file.
CSTs function as First Scrub (run the sterile backtable), Second Scrub/Third Scrub/Fourth Scrub (assisting as needed). They can function as Second Circulator/Third Circulator/Fourth Circulator under the direction of the RN.
RNs and CSTs can function as Laser Operators as long as they have had the training and competencies are on file.
Prepare and organize the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies are ready and sterile.
Scrub in and assist surgeons during operative procedures by passing instruments, sponges, sutures, and other supplies.
Maintain a sterile environment throughout the procedure.
Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery to prevent retained surgical items.
Handle surgical specimens properly and accurately.
Assist with patient positioning and prepping as needed.
Monitor and report changes in the patient's condition to the RN or surgeon.
Clean and restock operating rooms following procedures.
Comply with hospital policies, procedures, and infection control guidelines.
Document intraoperative care accurately (for LPN/RN roles).
Collaborate with perioperative team members to ensure smooth workflow.
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
Previous OR experience preferred.
Current LPN license in the state of Illinois.
Completion of an accredited LPN program.
Minimum of 1 year surgical experience preferred.
BLS certification required.
Current RN license in the state of Illinois.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (ADN/BSN).
At least 1 year of experience in the operating room preferred.
BLS and ACLS certification required (or within 6 months of hire).
Compensation:
Hourly Range $20.00 - $46.88
Bonus:
Potential for a performance-based bonus, subject to eligibility criteria and achievement of defined metrics. Details regarding bonus eligibility and performance goals will be provided during the interview process or upon hire.
Incentives:
Eligible for evening/night, weekend shift incentive based on company policies and applicable job codes. Additional details will be provided during the interview process.
