Meet Our Team

You will join a dynamic Industrial Digitalization and Manufacturing Technology team responsible for delivering next-generation SCADA and MES solutions across manufacturing operations. The team partners closely with Plant Operations, Controls Engineering, Manufacturing IT, Automation Engineers, and Business Stakeholders to ensure seamless deployment, integration, and validation of critical production systems.

  • Deploying and commissioning Ignition-based SCADA/MES solutions
  • Enabling real-time visibility into manufacturing operations
  • Supporting digital transformation initiatives across production environments
  • Ensuring system reliability, data integrity, and operational excellence
  • Driving successful go-live execution and production readiness
  • Collaborating with plant-floor teams to optimize manufacturing processes

What You'll Be Doing

As an Ignition Engineer, you will be responsible for the onsite deployment, commissioning, validation, and go-live support of Ignition-based SCADA/MES solutions within manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy and commission Ignition Gateway, Perspective applications, projects, tags, scripts, and database connections in production environments
  • Validate end-to-end data flow between PLCs, plant equipment, Ignition, historians, MES systems, dashboards, alarms, and reporting platforms
  • Execute Integration Testing, System Testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
  • Support production readiness reviews, go-live activities, hypercare, and post-deployment stabilization
  • Troubleshoot deployment and integration issues involving:
    • OPC UA and MQTT communications
    • Network connectivity
    • Database integrations
    • Security configurations
    • Client performance issues
  • Verify tag configurations, alarming functionality, scripting logic, and Perspective screen behavior under real manufacturing conditions
  • Support cutover planning, rollback procedures, and risk mitigation activities
  • Document testing outcomes, defects, corrective actions, validation evidence, and deployment records
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, controls engineering, and IT teams to validate manufacturing workflows and production tracking processes
  • Ensure production reporting, historian data, and operational dashboards accurately reflect plant-floor activities

What You'll Bring to the Team

Required Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with Ignition 8.1+ deployments and commissioning activities
  • Proven experience implementing and validating SCADA and MES solutions within manufacturing environments
  • Experience supporting onsite commissioning, startup, and production go-live activities
  • Strong understanding of industrial automation, manufacturing systems, and plant-floor operations
  • Experience performing end-to-end validation, testing, defect management, and production support

Technical Expertise

Ignition Platform

  • Ignition Gateway deployment and configuration
  • Project publishing and client rollout
  • Perspective application validation
  • Tag configuration and management
  • Alarm management and event validation
  • Security configuration and role-based access controls
  • Gateway scripting and runtime troubleshooting

Programming & Database Skills

  • Python (Jython) scripting within Ignition
  • SQL development and database troubleshooting
  • Stored procedures, queries, and data validation
  • Data integrity verification across multiple databases and MES tables

Industrial Systems & Integration

  • SCADA and MES deployment and validation
  • Historian integration and data verification
  • Real-time manufacturing data processing
  • PLC integration and plant-floor connectivity
  • Industrial communication protocols:
    • OPC UA
    • MQTT

Testing & Validation

  • Test planning and execution
  • Integration Testing
  • System Testing

Professional Skills

  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities

  • Experience collaborating with operations, maintenance, controls, engineering, and IT teams
  • Ability to manage multiple deployment activities while maintaining quality and compliance standards
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Ignition security models and role-based access validation
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for Perspective customization validation
  • Experience with FTP/SFTP integrations and file-based data exchange
  • Understanding of manufacturing KPIs, OEE, and production tracking systems
  • Familiarity with commissioning packages, traceability matrices, and validation documentation
  • Experience supporting Dev/Test/Production environment promotion strategies
  • Knowledge of production cutover planning, hypercare, and post-go-live support activities
  • Exposure to large-scale manufacturing digital transformation initiatives and smart factory deployments
