Main purpose of positionCurrently we are looking for Group Reporting & IFRS Manager in Cairo, Egypt to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future.

As our Group Reporting & IFRS Manager, you will play a key role in safeguarding the Group’s financial reporting, both external and internal, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and transparency in line with IFRS standards. You will contribute to the development of policies, procedures, guidelines, and tools for financial reporting and internal control across the Group. The position is part of Scatec’s global Group Reporting and Accounting function and will be based in Cairo, with primary responsibility for financial reporting related to the Egyptian portfolio. The role will work closely with Group Reporting in Oslo, as well as local Finance and Asset Management teams.

Main responsibilities

  • Perform quality assurance and consolidation of IFRS reporting, with primary responsibility for the Egyptian portfolio, ensuring accuracy and consistency of financial reporting.
  • Conduct IFRS technical accounting assessments for complex transactions (e.g., PPAs, EPC arrangements, impairments, financial instruments, and non-recurring items), and prepare high-quality accounting memos and presentations for external auditors.
  • Act as the primary IFRS contact within the region, providing guidance, training, and support to local Finance and Asset Management teams.
  • Ensure consistent application and continuous development of Group accounting policies, including IFRS compliance and adoption of new accounting standards across the organization.
  • Coordinate effectively with internal and external auditors to ensure timely resolution and closure of audit findings, while supporting external reporting and preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management, the Board, and the Oslo Stock Exchange.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives and strengthen internal control over financial reporting (ICFR), including development of policies, tools, and support to internal audit activities.

Qualifications and competencies

  • Master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of relevant experience, preferably within audit and/or group reporting in an international environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, with experience in applying accounting standards in practice.
  • Experience from Big Four audit firms is preferred, with exposure to complex accounting and financial reporting environments.
  • Solid understanding of consolidation and group reporting processes, with strong analytical and financial reporting capabilities.
  • Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken), with good IT proficiency (MS Office and SharePoint) and the ability to work independently while collaborating across functions and geographies.
