Your role

As a Forwarding Management Professional within CEVA Air & Ocean Portugal, you will be a pivotal member of our Air Operations team based in Porto. This role involves overseeing and managing air forwarding activities across the Portuguese market, ensuring efficient and compliant transportation of goods. Your contribution will directly impact the seamless flow of our logistics solutions and our commitment to delivering outstanding service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate air freight forwarding operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers, customs authorities, and clients to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Oversee planning and execution of shipments, optimizing routes and modes to meet customer expectations and operational efficiency.
  • Lead problem-solving initiatives related to logistics challenges and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, customs brokerage, and warehouse operations, to guarantee end-to-end service excellence.
  • Monitor operational performance through KPIs, reporting regularly to management with actionable insights and improvement recommendations.
  • Drive continuous process improvements in forwarding operations to enhance service quality and reduce operational costs.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with international trade regulations, including import/export controls and customs declarations.
  • Provide expert guidance and training to team members and junior staff to foster a culture of professional growth and operational excellence.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a logistics professional with deep knowledge of air freight forwarding and a proven track record within the market. Attention to detail, organisational skills, and a proactive mindset are essential for success in this role. We value candidates who demonstrate strong communication abilities and can thrive within a dynamic team environment.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience in forwarding management, preferably within air freight operations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of international logistics, customs procedures, and transportation regulations.
  • Proficient with logistics software and freight management systems.
  • Strong ability to analyse and optimise logistical processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills to manage relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory..
