Job Description

Purpose of the role

Facilitates and supports Agile teams by ensuring they follow Scrum principles. To remove obstacles, enhance team collaboration, and ensure smooth communication, enabling the team to focus on delivering high-quality, iterative results. Facilitate Scrum events, promote continuous improvement, and act as a bridge between the team and external stakeholders.

Accountabilities

  • Facilitate Events: Facilitate events, as needed, and ensure that all events take place and are positive, productive, and kept within the timebox
  • Support Iteration Execution: Ensure quality of ceremony artefacts and continuous customer value through iteration execution, maintain backlog refinement, and iterate on stakeholder feedback
  • Optimize Flow: Identify and facilitate the removal of conflict impacting team flow, utilizing metrics to empower the team to communicate effectively, making all work visible
  • Mitigate Risks: Identify and escalate risks to remove impediments and shield the Squad from interruptions
  • Build High-Performing Teams: Foster and coach Agile Team attributes and continuous improvement, encourage stakeholder collaboration, deputise ‘in the moment leadership’, and drive high-performing team attributes
  • Stakeholder Management: Facilitate stakeholder collaboration (e.g., business stakeholders, product teams, vendors) and build trust with stakeholders
  • Governance and Reporting: Ensure data quality and provide representation at required governance forums, if applicable

Join us as an IFC Transaction Monitoring Scrum Master where you’ll help deliver priorities that strengthen our financial crime safeguards and governance. You’ll work with our Transaction Monitoring team to protect the bank against financial crime risks. In this role, you’ll guide change delivery in a fast-paced environment, ensuring clear processes and successful outcomes. Together with stakeholders, you’ll develop solutions that meet regulatory and business goals.

The Integrated Financial Crime (IFC) portfolio is a multi-faceted Financial Crime programme of change delivered via over 20 programmes to create a holistic, risk-based and effective Financial Crime environment, strengthen robustness and enhance automation of Financial Crime processes, develop and strengthen our skills and capabilities across all lines of defence and empower our partners, colleagues and customers to identify and prevent Financial Crime by raising awareness of the risks.

To be successful as an IFC Transaction Monitoring Scrum Master, you must have experience with:

  • Proven ability to oversee end-to-end change, working with delivery partners, applying change delivery processes, and operating within governance frameworks while planning and coordinating activities.
  • Experienced in Agile method of change delivery governance, including planning, coordination, and oversight of programmes to support consistent and effective outcomes using tools like Jira, Confluence and Navigator.
  • Proven ability to build senior stakeholder relationships, foster collaboration, enable informed outcomes, communicate clearly at all levels, and use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio proficiently.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Demonstrated capability in structured assessment and review activities, including quality assurance, to support accuracy, consistency, and effective outcomes.
  • Detailed knowledge of governance frameworks within the banking environment, including involvement in internal and external audit processes related to governance oversight.
  • Transaction Monitoring experience would be an advantage.

This role will be based in Glasgow or London.
