The IESC Division Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of the compactor service division, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality service to internal and external customers. This position oversees installation scheduling, maintenance operations, financial performance, personnel, inventory, budgeting, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations. The IESC Division Manager is accountable for achieving operational excellence, controlling costs, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities of Position:

  • Oversee all daily operations of the IESC Compactor Division, including installations, removals, relocations, major repairs, and service activities
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate projects to ensure safe, timely, cost-effective completion while meeting company quality standards and customer expectations
  • Establish and maintain best practices for compactor, hydraulic power unit, and related equipment maintenance to maximize reliability and minimize downtime
  • Manage preventive maintenance programs, work order flow, labor utilization, technician productivity, and service response times
  • Develop and manage the division’s operating budget, monitoring labor, materials, travel, and operating expenses to achieve financial objectives
  • Review and approve departmental purchases and capital expenditures in accordance with company policies
  • Analyze financial reports, operational metrics, and KPIs to identify trends, and drive continuous improvement
  • Ensure accurate billing, work order costing, labor reporting, expense coding, and maintenance documentation
  • Lead, coach, train, and manage technicians, supervisors, and support personnel; establish performance expectations, conduct evaluations, and promote accountability and development
  • Maintain a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with OSHA requirements, company policies, and safe work practices; conduct safety meetings, job-site audits, and equipment inspections
  • Manage employee schedules, overtime, payroll, staffing levels, and workforce utilization to support operational needs
  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Fleet, Procurement, and other departments to coordinate installations, equipment availability, service needs, and customer support
  • Manage vendor and contractor relationships to ensure quality service, competitive pricing, and timely delivery of materials
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, environmental regulations, and applicable local, state, and federal requirements
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, customer service, and financial performance
  • Provide leadership during emergency service requests, critical equipment failures, and operational disruptions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • This position will manage 6-10 employees
  • This position will oversee and direct other managers

Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:

  • Strong leadership, supervisory, and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and develop employees
  • Proficiency in SAP, Power BI, Windows and Microsoft applications
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail and follow-through
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, schedule, and coordinate multiple projects and service activities simultaneously
  • Ability to interpret financial reports, budgets, operational metrics, and KPIs to support business decisions
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and with customers, vendors and contractors
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations, requirements, and compliance laws pertaining to DOT, OSHA, and EPA

Experience & Knowledge Needed for Position:

  • Knowledge and experience of the waste industry preferred
  • 5 years management experience required
  • Minimum 5 years experience in maintenance required
  • Experience managing budgets, controlling operating costs, and monitoring financials and operational performance

Physical Requirements in a Regular Workday:

  • Frequently lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 20 lbs
  • Occasionally lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 50 lbs
  • Rarely lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 75 lbs
  • Frequently working outside in changing temperatures
  • Continuously working in wet/humid conditions and areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matter
  • Occasionally stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling
  • Occasionally climbing and/or balancing
  • Frequently sitting/standing/walking

Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:

  • Possible exposure to high-traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas
  • Exposure to residential and commercial waste
  • Ability to travel between offices, as required
  • Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays
  • Must be available for 24-hour emergency calls
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Valid driver’s license (if applicable)
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language
