Clean Harbors, in Dickinson, TX, is searching for a reliable and safety oriented I&E Maintenance Technician with an excellent INSTRUMENTATION and MECHANICAL aptitude to join our safety-focused team!

The I&E Maintenance technician will be responsible for performing hands-on instrument checks, calibrations, and PLC/Delta V programming, along with diagnosing issues with control circuitry and assisting the maintenance departments with various tasks as needed such as rebuilding diaphragm pumps, swapping motors, conducting preventative maintenance.

  • Troubleshoots instrument and control malfunctions
  • Performs preventative maintenance checks and calibrations
  • Maintains accurate records and logs as required
  • Installs new system controls (including power wiring)
  • Installs cabling, power distribution systems, and motor control centers
  • Services and replaces motors and lighting
  • Performs general maintenance
  • Other duties as assigned

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • HS Diploma or Equivalent
  • Instrumentation degree, or certification preferred
  • 4+ years of I&E experience in a plant environment preferred
  • Solid instrumentation skills
  • Experience with PLC Programming experience – Delta V is preferred
  • Honeywell experience
  • Distributed control system (DCS) experience required
  • Installing VFDs (Variable Frequency Drive) required
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience
  • Experience working with 480v and below
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading of electronic schematics
  • Proficiency in process and instrumentation diagrams (PID)
  • Team player willing to assist where needed
  • Ability to prioritize work
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, bend, stoop, lift, climb and stand for long periods of time
