Service Manager - Inclusive Employment Australia

Location – Cairns, QLD (travel to other sites is required for this role)

Contract Type: Permanent Full-Time

About the opportunity:

The role of an IEA Service Manager is to oversee the delivery of specialised employment services for individuals with disabilities, ensuring they receive tailored support to achieve sustainable employment. They will be responsible for the day-to-day organisation and management of the IEA staff and operational objectives in their local area. The Service Manager will be expected to motivate, guide and develop the IEA program staff, while working closely with the Regional Manager to monitor and track performance and ensure delivery of a coherent and integrated service to both customers and employers. The Service Manager also builds relationships with employers, community organisations, and stakeholders to create inclusive job opportunities. Their leadership is key in fostering a supportive environment where participants can develop skills, access resources, and achieve meaningful employment outcomes.

What being a Service Manager involves:

  • Drive performance to meet key targets and service delivery standards.
  • Oversee day-to-day site operations, including staff, assets, vehicles, and building maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with government contracts, legislation, and internal quality standards.
  • Monitor and manage site finances in line with policies and contract guidelines.
  • Lead WHS practices, including site inspections and emergency drills.
  • Deliver high-quality, customer-focused employment services to participants.
  • Coach and develop staff through continuous improvement and collaboration with internal teams.
  • Build strong relationships with employers, government agencies, and the local community.
  • Seek out new business and partnership opportunities to grow service reach.
  • Ensure all reporting and contract obligations are met and audit-ready.
  • Stay up to date with economic trends and promote Workways as a trusted employment partner.
  • Support staff in achieving individual performance goals and meeting quality benchmarks.
  • Manage site risk by identifying and addressing potential issues proactively.

  • You understand trauma-informed practice or learn new frameworks quickly.
  • You adapt well to change and meet stakeholder needs in regulated settings.
  • You keep accurate records and are confident using computers and managing files.
  • You communicate well and build positive relationships with diverse clients.
  • You follow WH&S and risk procedures and lead by example.
  • You stay organised and manage your time effectively.
