Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

Design and optimize production line layout and process with the purpose of increasing productivity, eliminating waste, reducing cost, and ensuring quality standards are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing production process, identify bottlenecks and waste, propose improvement solutions.
  • Design and optimize the layout of production line to improve smooth and efficient flow of material, people and information on site.
  • Analyze production line balance problem and improve production efficiency by optimizing work assignment and reducing waiting time.
  • Collect, track and analyze production data, identify key factors that affect production efficiency, and formulate improvement measures.
  • Plan, execute and monitor lean improvement projects to ensure projects are completed on time and in quality. Encourage employees to come up with more innovative ideas and suggestions to promote continuous improvement and innovation in production process.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Bachelor's degree or above.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as IE Engineer in manufacturing environment, with excellent work performance.
  • Rich experience in Lean improvement project promotion, leading projects to improve production efficiency and process quality with significant results.

Competencies, skills & Certification - Required

  • Certifications in Six Sigma / Quality / Engineering / Lean Manufacturing are preferred.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Strong data analysis ability.
  • Good oral and written expression ability.
  • Self-directed, results/data/fact-oriented, able to work under pressure.
  • Ability to achieve the results through teams.
  • Manufacturing knowledge.
  • Skilled application of Office software, strong judgment and execution ability and teamwork ability.
