Purpose of the role
To manage and implement Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies, processes, technologies and standards for all IAM functions to ensure the secure access and use of sensitive information across the organisation.

Join us at Barclays as an Identity & Access Management (IAM) Specialist to join our Cyber Security team. This role is critical in ensuring robust access controls, strong governance, and compliance across our technology landscape.
You will deliver IAM assurance by supporting operational readiness assessments, validating access certifications, and ensuring strong governance aligned to industry standards while driving adoption of enterprise IAM policies and identifying and remediating access control risks. Additionally, you will enhance access management processes and tooling, collaborate with stakeholders to strengthen identity lifecycle controls, and track and drive compliance uplift initiatives through effective reporting and risk management.
To be successful as a Identity & Access Management (IAM) Specialist, you should have experience with:
Proven experience in Identity & Access Management (IAM) tools and platforms within a regulated environment.
Access Management Governance Proficiency e.g. Control/Process design – knowledge of standards (NIST etc)
Solid understanding of access certification and governance, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Segregation of Duties (SoD), and least privilege principles
Some other highly valued skills may include:
Relevant Information Security certification such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent
Confident stakeholder engagement, analytical, and reporting skills.
Good technical awareness – PAM solutions, Entra/AD etc, SSO/MFA
You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
This role is based in Glasgow or Edinburgh.
