Job Description

The Idaho Steelheads are seeking a Part-Time Video Coordinator to assist the coaching staff with game preparation, opponent scouting, player development, and day-to-day video operations throughout the season.

This position is ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on experience within a professional hockey environment while developing skills in video analysis, scouting, coaching support, and player development.

Responsibilities

  • Live clip and code Idaho Steelheads games for use by the coaching staff.
  • Assist with the preparation of opponent pre-scout video, including systems, tendencies, personnel, and special teams.
  • Compile individual player teaching clips for player development meetings and coaching review.
  • Clip and organize video during practices as requested by the coaching staff.
  • Maintain organized game, practice, opponent, and individual player video libraries.
  • Assist with special teams analysis, system reviews, player evaluations, and other coaching projects.
  • Complete miscellaneous video projects as assigned by the coaching staff.
  • Help ensure video is organized, accessible, and prepared efficiently for meetings and team use.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of hockey terminology, positions, systems, and game situations.
  • Previous experience using video analysis or sports video software.
  • Strong computer and technology skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational ability.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and take direction from the coaching staff.
  • Availability for evenings, weekends, home games, practices, and other team activities as required.
  • Professionalism and discretion when working around players, coaches, and confidential team information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with Hudl Sportscode or other video analytic software.
  • Experience working with hockey video at the professional, collegiate, junior, high school, or amateur level.
  • Familiarity with live coding, tagging, playlists, presentations, and video organization.
  • Previous playing, coaching, scouting, analytics, or hockey operations experience.

This position is particularly well suited for a recent graduate, aspiring coach, video analyst, former player, or individual looking to begin or continue a career in professional hockey.

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work directly with the Idaho Steelheads coaching staff and gain exposure to professional-level game preparation, opponent scouting, player development, special teams analysis, and hockey operations.

Schedule

This is a part-time, seasonal position with hours varying based on the Idaho Steelheads' practice and game schedule. The position will require some evening and weekend availability, particularly on home game days.

Some scouting and video projects may be completed remotely or outside traditional team hours depending on the assignment.
