The position

The Aga Khan Schools in Kenya operates five schools and one residential school, offering both the national and international curricula from nursery to secondary.

The Aga Khan School, Kisumu provides high-quality education to students from nursery to primary (Playgroup to Grade 9). It offers the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) and aims to nurture the holistic development of its students from an early age.

The Aga Khan School, Kisumu has an opening for the position of:

  1. ICT Support Associate

Reporting to the ICT Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering effective ICT support across the school, ensuring the smooth operation of digital infrastructure, and empowering staff and students to make the most of technology in teaching, learning, and daily operations.

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

  1. Technical Proficiency
  • Proficiency in the installation, configuration and maintenance of ICT hardware, software, and networks.
  • Sound knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and data protection compliance.
  • Ability to manage ICT assets, maintain accurate inventory, and coordinate ICT equipment repairs.
  • Strong user support skills; developing ICT procedures, delivering training, promoting effective technology use.
  • Familiarity with server infrastructure and wireless access point management (e.g. Aruba networks).
  1. Interpersonal and Communication Skills
  • Ability to train and build capacity among non-technical users.
  • Strong communication skills; effective collaboration with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Professional, proactive and responsive approach to service delivery.
  1. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy in diagnosing and resolving ICT issues.
  • Capacity to prioritize multiple tasks and respond effectively to emergencies.

The requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree is an added advantage
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, Microsoft Systems Engineering, ITIL

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience similar role. Previous experience working in a school environment will be an added advantage.
  • Proven experience managing network infrastructure and user support in an institutional setting.
