ICT Expert – Microsoft Project & Portfolio Management (PPPM)

Location: Leuven, Belgium

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced ICT Expert to support a strategic migration initiative from Microsoft Project Online to Microsoft Planner Premium within a mature Project, Portfolio, and Program Management (PPPM) environment.

This role combines technical leadership, solution design, portfolio management expertise, and business process optimization. The successful candidate will help modernize project management operations, ensure seamless migration of existing data and processes, and provide functional and technical solutions that support future portfolio management capabilities.

You will work closely with stakeholders, project teams, and business users to deliver a modern Microsoft-based planning and portfolio management platform.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Portfolio Management Transformation

• Support the migration from Microsoft Project Online to Microsoft Planner Premium.
• Analyze existing PPPM processes and design future-state solutions.
• Ensure continuity of portfolio management operations throughout the migration.
• Facilitate Strategic Portfolio Management workshops and stakeholder sessions.
• Recommend best practices for project and portfolio governance.

Solution Design & Technical Leadership

• Lead the technical design and implementation of portfolio management solutions.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Oversee all technical aspects of the migration project.
• Provide guidance and coaching to technical teams and solution designers.
• Ensure solutions align with business objectives and Microsoft platform capabilities.

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Design and develop reporting and analytics solutions using Microsoft Power BI.
• Analyze project, portfolio, and operational data to support decision-making.
• Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations for executive stakeholders.
• Ensure data quality and reporting consistency across platforms.

Process Automation & Collaboration

• Leverage Microsoft 365 technologies to streamline project management processes.
• Support automation initiatives using Power Automate and related Microsoft tools.
• Optimize collaboration and workflow management across teams.
• Contribute to Agile project delivery practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

Must-Have

• 8+ years of experience working with Microsoft project management technologies or similar enterprise platforms.
• 5+ years of experience leading technical aspects of complex projects.
• Proven experience as a solution designer and technical lead.
• Strong experience in:
  • Microsoft Project Online
  • Microsoft Project for the Web
  • Microsoft Planner Premium
  • Strategic Portfolio Management
  • Microsoft Power BI
• Experience creating technical designs and leading implementation efforts.
• Strong background in coding, testing, debugging, and solution delivery.
• Demonstrated experience with Agile methodologies.
• Fluent Dutch language skills (CEFR Level C2).
