As the ICT Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, engineering, configuration, implementation, commissioning and ongoing support/maintenance of ICT infrastructure and Enterprise Applications into HBS across all lines of business. This will also include ensuring to adhere to the centralisation and standardisation of ICT and Cybersecurity services to promote, deliver and maintain more connected, operational critical solutions to our customers, ensuring alignment and consistency with global standards and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the design, engineering, configuration, implementation, commissioning and support/maintenance of ICT infrastructure (Server, Storage, Network, Virtual Platforms etc.) and Enterprise Software Applications (EBI, DVM, EM, OBS etc.) across all lines of business
- Ensure the global alignment and standardisation of the design, install and service of ICT and Cybersecurity services and technology selection of hardware / software across the Region to server all lines of business in HBS.
- Drive and maintain the product support and utilisation of ICT/Cybersecurity services throughout the region.
- Work in collaboration with ICT peers to drive knowledge sharing and facilitate ICT/Cyber growth across the Region and throughout the Pole.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Account Managers/Sales Team to ensure alignment on all customer sites and identify and proactively drive ICT and Cybersecurity opportunities across the Region.
- Work with the Account Managers, ICT Ops Managers/Leaders & ICT engineers in the Region to develop strong strategic partnerships with our existing customer base and identify and secure new customer portfolios.
- Work in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders to drive and articulate importance of ICT and Cybersecurity in connected and critical infrastructure to our existing customer base and new customer portfolio.
- Identify areas of innovation, technical excellence and best practices through knowledge sharing internally and externally to facilitate HBS becoming the go-to business for clients, star performers and employees.
- Build productive customer relationships, developing sponsors for Honeywell, and continually seek and capitalise upon opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships. Ensure Honeywell become the “trusted advisor” for ICT and Cybersecurity services.
- Actively promote Honeywell as an expert in ICT, Cybersecurity and Integrated Solutions and engage and create new relationships with customers and vendors through networking events and industry forums.
- Keep abreast of all relevant developments and innovations in the ICT/Cyber field and research best practice methodologies and ensure emerging technologies are correctly aligned with customer requirements and solution offering.
- Provide feedback and liaise with product management to ensure HBS product portfolio is appropriate to the changing needs of current and new customers, and suits our regional market.
- Review all ICT server/storage/network designs across the district, involves reviewing and validating designs and quotes from Dell/etc.
- Attend and actively contribute/participate in all Pole ICT/Cyber calls
- Conduct peer reviews with ICT Solution Architect/Sales Team to ensure compliance and adherence of ICT/Cyber designs aligned to Honeywell, industry and specification requirements along with use of standardised Honeywell product portfolio (hardware and software).
- Contribute to Technical Risk Reviews (TRR) for projects in your respective district that involve ICT/Networking/Cyber Security
- Provide a high level of technical expertise / take ownership of the maintenance of existing complex ICT infrastructure system installations at client sites. This role will have a focus on the implementation and support of Honeywell software platforms such as EBI, DVM, Energy Manager and Honeywell Connected Services.
- Provide expert advice using current technical knowledge as to the procurement, configuration and implementation of the underlying architecture and technologies for new Honeywell led systems, with the aim of ensuring supportability, expansibility and flexibility.
- Take responsibility for the preventative maintenance of existing systems (Inc. patch management, system updates), carry out audits and review of existing infrastructure and take responsibility for all breakdowns/repairs.
- Develop site-specific documentation including configuration, engineering, OandM, testing and commissioning manuals and procedures.
- Have a good understanding of networks, network principles and IT industry processes and procedures including configuration management and change management.
- Have good, current and up-to-date technical knowledge of Honeywell supported products (EBI, DVM, Energy Manager) including participation in EBI advanced college training.
- Ensure high availability and performance of Honeywell maintained ICT/Cyber services by diagnosing complex problems, tuning to improve performance, maintaining and supporting the underlying infrastructure, monitoring of network and system intrusions, provision of switch and router configuration management, including liaison with Project Team, Honeywell Support, and ICT hardware and software vendors where advanced diagnosis is required.
- Take responsibility for the identification and implementation of new system updates and firmware to ensure the integrity and stability of the existing systems including implementation plan, change management plan and rollback plans required to support the process.
- Protect the integrity of the Honeywell implemented software, server and network infrastructure and services by managing access, monitoring global ICT security news and technological developments, and acting on these using vendor advice and current technical knowledge.
- Enforce best practice procedures for change management, software upgrades and for the implementation of any new Honeywell product features or versions.
- Contribute to the development of project plans, schedules, and design/configuration documentation.
- Develop effective working relationships with Honeywell’s Technical Support Groups, systems users and software vendors, to ensure systems can be well maintained, used effectively, and that requests for action to correct system problems can be attended to effectively and promptly.
- Ensure that skills are maintained and enhanced in "specialist" area(s) relating to product knowledge, services knowledge, or industry knowledge. Ensure training plan is included in Personal Development Plan (PDP). Self-direction in identifying and suggesting training opportunities
Key Experience & Capabilities:
- Technical Diploma and/or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering or Computer Science
- Advanced Certification and/or Training in relevant ICT industry technologies such as CCNP (Cisco), MCSE (Microsoft), VCDP (VMware), CA (Citrix), HyperV, or similar.
- Active directory and domain name server configuration.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an IT Systems Engineer or equivalent capacity. Can be more than 2 years.
- Proficient in networking, servers, storage, and enterprise applications.
- Current and demonstrated knowledge and systems experience at a senior level in an enterprise environment with the following technologies:
- Windows Servers
- Virtualisation Technologies (VMware preferred)
- Networking, TCP/IP and LAN/WAN
- SAN Storage
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Demonstrated experience in organising and directing work activities according to priorities, and to meet deadlines involving multiple systems projects and vendors.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to develop innovative and creative solutions in a complex multiple systems environment.
