Job Description

The Ice Person Labor position is responsible for ensuring the proper distribution and handling of ice used throughout poultry processing operations. This team member supports food safety, product quality, and production efficiency by maintaining adequate ice levels, monitoring equipment, and supplying ice to designated production areas in accordance with company policies and USDA regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor ice-making and ice-distribution equipment.
  • Supply ice to processing, packaging, and storage areas as required.
  • Ensure continuous availability of ice to support production operations.
  • Inspect equipment regularly and report malfunctions or maintenance concerns.
  • Remove excess ice and maintain clean, safe work areas.
  • Follow established food safety, quality assurance, and sanitation procedures.
  • Comply with Tyson Foods policies, USDA regulations, and plant safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate communication with supervisors and production team members regarding ice supply needs.
  • Assist with general production and sanitation duties as assigned.
  • Support plant operations by performing additional tasks as needed to meet production goals.
