Job Description

This position is responsible for performing operations functions, preventive and corrective maintenance as applicable to job function to ensure proper functioning of plant equipment will work under the direction of site management.
This position is responsible for the proper function and maintenance of equipment at a Gas Plant for the Gas fleet. Responsible for promoting safe, effective, and reliable operation.

Key Accountabilities:

Proficient in maintenance of process control instrumentation

Proficient skills for maintaining equipment at the plant

Performs troubleshooting and documentation, and assists in the resolution of problems discovered on shift

Performs daily maintenance, overhauls, calibration, troubleshooting, repair/replacement and removal/installation of plant equipment and auxiliary systems.

Calibrate, troubleshoot and maintain power plant instrumentation systems and control systems.

Makes decisions and recommends appropriate repair techniques for plant equipment to peers, supervisors, plant management.

Conducts excitation system inspections and preventive maintenance

Proficient in operating material handling equipment

Develops and implements plant operating procedures

Understands relationship of equipment to plant systems

May provide instruction and teaching to lower level employees

Ensures strict adherence to safety, health and environmental procedures as they relate to plant operations and maintenance including but not limited to Lockout Tagout, Job Safety Analysis, Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safety and PPE

**Level of position will be determined by applicable skills/experience.

Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements:

Associates degree in Instrumentation or Electronics and one (1) year as an I&C Technician or High School Diploma/GED equivalent with three (3) years related work experience required.

•Satisfactory completion of Tier 2 within primary skill for position job performance measure

•Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent

•Demonstrate computer based skills

•Demonstrate effective oral & verbal communications skills

•Independent knowledge of troubleshooting

•Ability to work nights and weekends based on plant needs.

All applicants must be a successful candidate on the Plant Operator Selection System/Power Plant Operations and Maintenance (POSS / MASS) program in order to be considered a candidate for this position. POSS / MASS exams are administered on an as-needed basis by Human Resources and all communication concerning the testing is sent to the candidate's email address provided during the application process.

Satisfactory completion of Tier 3 training and qualification requirements

Demonstrate continual self improvement in job skills and knowledge.

Perform work incorporating strict adherence to Safety procedures and best practices and continually observe for safe working practices.

·Regularly develops and presents safety topics.

·Develop an understanding of HPI tools through training opportunities and practice. Actively participate in Pre/Post Job briefs.

·Work with other technicians to perform routine and emergency maintenance and/or compliance activities on the plant instrumentation and control systems including weekends, holidays, and scheduled shift.

·Cover Unit start-up and shut-down activities with assistance from other Technicians.

·Calibrate, troubleshoot and maintain power plant instrumentation systems and equipment.

·Learn to enter WRs and PRs into Maximo.

·Assist in the design and implementation of O&M and Capital projects.

·Learn to communicate LOTO requests to Operations.

·Maintain a good working relationship with Operations, Electrical, Purchasing, Warehouse personnel, other support groups and vendors.
