The role includes technical support for DCS, PLC, HMI, field instrumentation, industrial networks, and cybersecurity systems.

Job Description: I&C and Cybersecurity Engineer – Control Systems Specialist

The I&C and Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for supporting and executing, OT control systems, OT/IT cybersecurity engineering activities and instrumentation at Ashalim Plot B CSP Power Plant, ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant control, monitoring, instrumentation, and OT cybersecurity systems.

The role includes maintenance support, troubleshooting, improvement, and lifecycle management of control systems, field instrumentation, and OT cybersecurity systems.

The position requires close coordination with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, OEMs, vendors, and other relevant stakeholders to achieve high plant availability, reliability, and cybersecurity compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement of plant instrumentation and control systems.
  • Maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement of plant cyber security systems, and coordination with the Ministry of Energy (MoE).

  • Provide technical expertise for DCS (ALSPA DCS is an advantage), PLC, HMI, turbine control, protection systems, and related field devices.
  • Investigate abnormal plant behavior, alarms, trips, and control system failures, support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Review and update control logic, alarms, interlocks, and functional logic diagrams.
  • Ensure compliance with GEV recommendations, plant procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for control and cyber security assets.
  • Prepare technical reports, work instructions, and test procedures.
  • Participate in risk assessments, Management of Change (MOC), and technical reviews for plant modifications.
  • Be on call.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with GE control systems (ALSPA) and protection systems.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLC systems.
  • nowledge of OT/IT systems, networking equipment, and industrial networks.
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems.
  • Knowledge of steam turbine sequencing logic.
  • Familiarity with CMMS (Maximo is an advantage) and digital platforms.
  • Understanding of industrial cyber security equipment and control system network fundamentals.

Working Conditions:

  • Based at Ashalim Plot B CSP Power Plant – day shift position.
  • Participation in the on-call rotation.
