Cyber Security & Digital Identity (CDI)

From secure software to biometrics and encryption, CDI technologies and services enable businesses and governments to authenticate identities and protect data, so they stay safe and enable services in personal devices, connected objects, the cloud and in between.

The Opportunity

As part of the IBS Passport team, you will support the full end-to-end passport personalisation process. This includes operating BookMaster One and Bowe insertion machines, carrying out quality inspections, managing vault operations, and handling goods receipt and dispatch. You’ll also complete routine maintenance tasks and collaborate with colleagues on 5S and continuous improvement activities.

Main Responsibilities

  • You’ll complete daily maintenance and cleaning of the machines and surrounding areas.

  • You’ll work within the 5S rules and guidelines.

  • You’ll operate the machines and/ or processes and rigorously follow the standard work for each of these tasks.

  • You’ll run process to production targets and quality standards.

  • You’ll complete hourly figures and highlight issues that have occurred to the management team.

Ideal experience and skills

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment, staying calm, organised and collaborative under pressure

  • Comfortable working towards shared goals, consistently meeting daily targets or SLAs

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes

  • Experience supporting machinery, production lines, or operational processes

  • Confident with basic IT and numeracy skills, with clear written and spoken English


Due to the nature of the work that we do at Thales, many of our roles are subject to security restrictions. This role requires Security Clearance (SC). It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance prior to commencing employment.

To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years’ residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.
